I wonder how many of the 70s cultural references in Airplane would confuse Jax.

Ed Scoglio

Airplane! is incredible!!!!!

Honestly, the jokes themselves are funny on their own. I always felt that understanding the reference is just a bonus.

As much as I usually hate remakes, it would be interesting to see how an update to this kind of movie would turn out (assuming they went as unpolitically correct as possible 🤣).

Lee Aguera

I hold Airplane to be the single best comedy movie of all time, rivaled only by Blazing Saddles. Excellent choices

Brad Nelson

If Airplane does not win, I have no faith in humanity.

Chris VanLoon

I have to agree with the mob, it's gotta be Airplane. It's the CHEESIEST, humorest movie that has absolutely stood the test of time. So many jokes and memes came from it.

Armando Castillo

These are some random movies lol ummm I'd say 21 jump street but airplane is a classic

IncredibleBulk

this ones hard, they are all very good

Alex Gorell

Airplane has about 3 funny parts and the rest is just cringey eye rolling. Idk why it’s so popular.

Adam Doyle

21 and 22 Jump Street are always a good laugh, but Airplane! is comedy/spoof 101 must watch. Although there are many jokes that I have seen many reactors miss (due to older references/movies/celebrities) , there are still enough that transcend time.

Damn Airplane always win all the polls.. Im to young for this shit.. so Is Jax.. She won’t take any of the cheesy referances.. common🤦🏼‍♂️

I highly recommend some dark comedies like The Banshees of Inisherin, Trainspotting, The Guard, Four Lions, The Death of Stalin, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths, etc. Are dark comedies big in America? I’ve often heard people say that Americans tend to prefer lighthearted, slapstick comedy over dark comedies that dive into real-life struggles, less escapism and more of a comedic take on actual problems. But then there are American films like The Big Lebowski, American Beauty, and Fargo, most of these being films from the Coen Brothers. It just seems that these types of films are rarer from American filmmakers compared to their non-American counterparts.

Stan Johnston

Airplane! Is completely inappropriate, funny as he'll and could never be made today. Granted people mid fifties and older get the cultural references more than young folks like Jacqueline, but still one of the best belly hurting laughs you'll have.
