You seem to know a lot about members only clubs Jax! This is my favorite episode of season 2. Part of what made the first season so charming was the twist that the show wasn’t making fun of the folksy, plain speaking Midwestern football coach and he was actually the wisest, most compassionate character on the show. This season delved too much into melodrama in my opinion. But this episode is actually funny! By the way, I appreciate the pithy written intros that you usually include with your posts. They help to frame the reaction by giving us some things to think about or keep an eye out for while watching along.

when the fans were playing around on the nelson road field it would have been a funny call back to the first episode for someone to come running telling them toget off the grass. lol

This episode gets a lot of hate, but I love it. I love the implication that Beard leads a much stranger life then we see through everyone else.

Yeah, this is the only episode of Ted Lasso that I actively dislike, and have skipped on rewatches. I haven't seen the obscure movie it is parodying (After Hours from 1985) and maybe it'd be funnier if you get the references? Season two was already written, and they were in the midst of pre-production, when season one came out. When it was such a success, AppleTV extended their original season two order from 10 to 12 episodes. This episode and the Christmas episode were the two additional episodes that they produced as a result. That's why they don't really further the overall plot of the show. They are kind of standalone.

I've never understood the hate for this episode. I personally love it!
