For me, episode 5 was the most emotional. I almost cried when I saw Aisha on her last knees after Najma stabbed her. However, I liked that Kamala tried to reason with Najma. She doesn’t condone what she did to her great-grandmother Aisha, but seeking retribution isn’t her objective. Instead she reminded her that it’s not too late for her son Kamran to live a life of his own.

It sure did feel rushed. Wish I knew something about it to inform you. Maybe I’ll look for extras. Did they explain exactly why the Clandestine Djinn were exiled anyway? Maybe they’ll wrap it up in the finale. I SUPPOSE you’re right about her mom and grandmother’s relationship helping her to accept Kamala as the light girl… MAYBE had the mom started to get upset and then the grandmother held her hand back or something that scene would’ve helped the transition? Najma… maybe a quick cut of her crimes, kamran’s expressions (especially when she teased him) and the other Djinn dying could have helped. Idk. Great reaction though!
