Here is my full reaction to Charade (1963)!

This Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant classic centers around the mysterious death of Audrey's husband and all the intriguing secrets that get discovered about his life and possible murder. I'm usually pretty good at predicting plots of picking up on where stories are going but this movie really stumped me. It went in every direction and then invented some new ones!

In the movie, Regina (Hepburn) accidentally spills ice cream on Alex (Grant). This was inspired by a real-life dinner party where Hepburn accidentally spilled red wine on Cary Grant's cream-colored suit. This was so amazing Jax for a first time watching this was incredible. Loving this reaction ♥️♥️

So Cary Grant was wanted for the Gregory Peck role in Roman Holiday. He declined thinking he was too old to play Audrey Hepburn's love interest. Then 10 years after that, they played love interested anyway haha. He was about 50 and she was about 34 when they made this. Only Marylin Monroe movie I've ever seen is Some Like It Hot, which I totally think you should watch! Has one of the best final lines in movie history!

Thanks Jax! In all the times I've seen this movie, I never got the " stress eating" gag. I wonder if the writer's did that or if it got improvised.

Among the stamps the collector sells to Jean-Louis are ten Princess Grace commemorative, a sneaky reference to Grace Kelly who played the love interest in another Cary Grant romance/crime caper, To Catch a Thief.
