I like this episode a lot and it's one of my favorite from season 1. And when it comes to kids shows stereotypical episodes of "Being jealous of someone else." Trope. This is a good representation of how to handle it. It's okay to be jealous and it's a natural and human emotion to have, and it shouldn't be depicted as being "bad" to feel jealous, but rather it's how you act because of that jealousy is what should define you. (They're ponies and not humans but you get my point lol). I'm glad they didn't write Rarity to deny that she's jealous until the end of the episode since that's what most kids show do. But here she admits it early on and even feels guilty and understands it's wrong to want a bad outcome for Fluttershy. But she's a good friend for supporting her anyways, even if she wants what she has. Both Rarity and Fluttershy are my favorite from the main 6 but I love that Rarity never disencouraged Fluttershy at all, and just like the episode where she was there for Rainbow Dash when nobody else spoke up to support her. Essentially: All emotions including jealousy are just signals not choices and the best way to fix a problem like this is communication, and it's why I appreciate this episode a lot now that I'm older.
