One of the things about the ending for Angel Dust that particularly hurts is when you take a look of how his motives from day one have changed. It started when Sir Pentious joined and was acting under Vox like a good sinner, Charlie Praises him and is excited to have "a real guest" at the hotel. While Its true that Angel Dust only stays their for housing to get away from Valentino, it clearly hurts him making him feel he isn't enough. "Loser Baby" Is such an important song because its about regrets and self loathing that Husk and Angel have to their addictions and how their lives have ended up because of them. Angel has had hell knows how many years under his contract with Valentino being treated like he is nothing unless he provides pleasure and views for Valentino, equally while being treated as "just a slut" on the streets. When Husk sings to him, hea suggesting self forgiveness, that despite all of your own afflictions making you feel like you are loosing, your in Hell, and not the only Loser around. Only you can judge yourself and determine whether its worth changing- Which is why I believe Angel decided to defend Nifty and himself when Valentino ends up at the same club back in season 1. When Charlie goes into her manic episode trying to speed run redemption on Angel Dust, It makes him feel like he doesnt live up to the standard of what a redeemed soul looks like. Ontop of that, Vox telling Charlie about why Angel is in hell for murder, it reminds him of another layer of self loathing he has been trying to forget actively (which is one of his main motives when he first made a deal with Val, to distance himself from his human life). The reason why Husk and Cherri are people he considered close friends, are because they relate to what he is going through and dont make him feel like scum, giving him something to live for the next day. This whole series between Charlie coming in too Vals studio, Nifty getting near Val at the club, when Husk was tied to the train tracks- Angel cared more for them than himself and dont want to see them hurt. Too be told/see he was hurting theese people's cause and working into Vox and Valentinos plan just opened up that self loathing of "No, I am worse. I've been hurting people I love, I deserve to be here in hell, I deserve to feel the pain Valentino causes me" Topping it all off with strangling Cherri, who was his first real friend down in Hell- it made him realize that he wasnt just bad but dangerous for them. Sorry for the long diatribe, Angel Dust has always been a character dear to my heart since the pilots first release. Blake Roman's performance gives him so much life and makes his current path especially painful. Glad you enjoyed the second season and I know I cant wait for the 3rd to be released!!

yes to all of this !! angel always makes me emotional especially when it comes to the characters he considers his people (mainly husk and cherri),, and in much the same way it felt like husk could finally connect with someone who truly understood him so that scene of him reaching out for angel was so sad. i hope s3 focuses more on them since we got what felt like set-up for a mini arc (relationship development ?). i just want them to be happy together and i have hope for an ending that isn't doomed 😭 shielding them from the bury your gays trope and manifesting heartfelt buddies falling in love ❤️‍🩹
