One of the things about returning to drawing physical pages instead of digital, that is difficult to adjust to, is the problem of having to fix large mistakes. Sometimes you can use white ink or paint, but that can be messy and change the surface texture of the page when redrawing. Sometimes you need a patch!
I used to just glue a new patch with the new drawing area over the old one, but that isn’t always reliable.
I messed up the perspective of these pavement cobbles and wanted to fix them. I taped a second board beneath, and used an Xacto knife to cut through *both* sheets to make a piece that precisely fits the hole in the top sheet. Then tape that piece in place - voila, a clean new space to redraw that’s flush with the original page. (Hopefully won’t mess it up this time)
