Still Life, Part 2 (Patreon)

Here’s the second half of Still Life. As mentioned in the first post, I drew this while in a period of depression and creative block, and this story helped me out of it. It’s a bit morbid, but I was interested in the idea of finding creative inspiration in something ugly and terrible. 

I showed this story to Fight Club author Chuck Palahniuk, and his only note was that drowned corpses were usually big and bloated, unlike the body depicted here. Whoops! I don’t know how Chuck knows that, and maybe I don’t want to.
