Content

It’s been a week over here, and the team is so close to unveiling this thing. Just putting some last touches together, and it will be out. The small-game plan is the same, tight story, real mechanics, built with you. We overshot content estimates by about 50% as quality ramped and old SU time estimates didn’t fit. That’s on us, but that content will get in, we just need to be better to hit timelines.

What you’ll play is short in places but the base is there and it works. Jump in, break it, and tell us what hits, what misses, and what you want more of. We’ll iterate fast and keep the loop tight on Patreon and Discord. So keeping you engaged is important.

Genuine thanks for riding with us, we'll keep you updated. Now suit up and take a look into the Danger Room.

You know what'd be really funny, having Wade Wilson show up as the substitute teacher in one arc, just out of nowhere, Deadpool's there to poke fun at the students, staff, and players

gray

Who will we be playing as in the game, will it be an OC, or a known character like Logan or Scott?

Gundam lupus

why not have wanda Willson aka Lady deadpool as a teacher there insted?

Jeff Novak

And here we are. Despite warnings that splitting one team's focus over two projects will cause one or both projects to suffer, delays in one are now causing delays in the other. As this X-Men project is taking more and more time, the less I hear about any updates to SU (the game I actually joined this Patreon to support).

Commando Cosplay

Nah, enough girls to go around, nothing like some wade wilson to spice it up

Pensfan108

They literally just said two days ago that the next update will be for Themyscira. If you don't wanna spend your money here then don't, nobody's keeping you lol. The company's name isn't geared towards SU specifically

Korus

Can't wait.

Nice

kupo

Wade could totally be the error message, popping up and breaking the 4th wall anytime you try to choose content that's unfinished. 😄

HEY! HEY! IS too small that technology lab. Or better say it has too little gadgets!!

Fallenknightowl

It was Rogue Lust : Powerslave that introduced me to your Work.

SpaceInvester

Looking nice, hoping to see how this works out!

Jeff Novak

Great idea! MAYBE I'll be back in a year. Or two. Depending on whether they've actually updated the game that built "Gunsmoke Games".

Commando Cosplay

it'd have to be an OC mutant with some kind of power to influence the girls, or one of the "brotherhood" characters get access to something to do it.

David Ullrich

Its just constructive criticism no need to get angry, he has a point, and since it is whenever with themyscira rn it could really be in year for all we know.

Pensfan108

Fair enough. Constructive criticism is fine. But also saying it could take a year is hyperbolic folly when they’ve never taken that long lol. And as they just pointed out, the art quality timeline for PE seemingly takes longer than SU, so ostensibly SU won’t take as long. And they know that about the difference now and will make their adjustments accordingly for the next PE build after SU’s next one.

Jeff Novak

OR since they now know that art quality timeline for PE takes longer than SU, they'll devote even more time to PE than the promised 50/50 split.

gunsmokegames

Jeff we're not promising a 50/50 split in time. Our goal with these small games is to have a small rough draft game/showcase out in 4 months. From there we will iterate and flush out the content. SU has to take a breath and step back during this time, but after 10 years of consistent development our hope was that we built up some good will.

Jeff Novak

"We have dedicated cycles and internally these projects are not being worked on during the same cycle. They have dedicated time and resources." That was your reply to me two months ago when I first raised concerns. If PE is taking longer and using more resources this "dedicated cycle," how does that affect SU's "dedicated cycle"? From the sound of your reply, you're saying SU is in "time-out" and will have to wait until you're tired of your new shiny toy.

gunsmokegames

Jeff I understand what you're saying. However, when developing anything new you use estimates, and best guesses. We have never done this before, and I get the feeling you think we should know exactly how long this thing takes. You're expecting us to accomplish something impossible, and you will always be frustrated. And that is not what I said, I said we have a goal in mind with these small games. A showcase out in 4 months, and from there we iterate and flush out content. SU has to take a breath and step back when we do that. We only have so many resources. To accomplish this we need to 1 do it, and 2 get better at it. We still havent even finished step 1.

Jeff Novak

No, I'm afraid that you don't understand what I'm saying. Estimates, best guesses, whether you know what you're doing or not, expectations. None of that was my concern when the new game was announced. My concern was a small team splitting their resources between between two projects and your insistence that neither would suffer. I warned you that was unsustainable. And here we are.
