Amazing that you started watching this. This is by far the best serie i ever laid my eyes on, each time i watch this i am actually drinking vat 69 same as Lt Nixon. Its a cheaper whisky! But together with this serie it makes it perfect. Gad you enjoyed the first episode and everything is very detailed from the real happening back in the 1942 to 194 in the american viewpoint. Tom Hanks are extremely well educated in the second world war and this is his passion. The great journey you saw is the very same starting scene from saving private ryan but now you see it from the airbournes view so time between that movie and first episode are now linked up with each others. This invasion of Normandie is still till today the largest invasion ever taken place. I look forward to the next episode with you Biss!

you won't regret watching this and I bet that you shed a tear or two at least in ep 9 and ep 10. I like the fact that they did keep some humor in it with being as close to history as possible (you will know what I mean down the line)

Quakers are a religious order that is non-denominational. They were one of the orders that broke away from the C of E in the 17 th century and left Britain, like the Puritans and Pilgrims, but they were more loosey Goosey and less "rules" based. They settled further south in America than the Pilgrims and Puritans. William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania, was a quaker and that is where most quakers settled and lived. They were known to be very viceless, no drinking, no smoking, no sex unless to procreate, but not out of fear of going to hell, more out of the promise of going to heaven.

Private Ryan would have been one of these guys. Also, I don't think him getting that jacket was by chance.

I gotta say HBO has the best shows. I mean of course Game of Thrones (and House of the Dragon too) is my favorite show ever. But Band of Brothers is just so well done. I tend to watch this about once a year too. And Chernobyl is also incredibly well done too.

This show premiered on HBO in 2001and for the most part is accurate to the history of Easy Company. Some of the story is condensed down for the sake of the show not being too long. TY TY for doing this. Glad you liked this. I will say be prepared, things get a lot more intense, dramatic and emotional as the series goes on.

Sven

yeah, Chernobyl hit all the right spots, explaining why it happened and what happened to all the people.

Adam

The first episode aired just 2 days before September 11th.

You were right about the guy from office space, however there are a lot of actors in this series that are recognizable from other places be it TV , movies, or other series'. you should watch the credits or just google the cast and see if you recognize any of them.

duane
