If anyone enjoying this comic feels that the footprint in the shag carpet doesn't look particularly large relative to the ant offering commentary, please understand that the ant is actually a specimen of dinoponera gigantea, the largest ant species in the world, where the adult females measure 3-4 cm (roughly 1.2-1.6 inches) in length. However, the specific ant in the picture suffers from a very rare form of ant dwarfism. However-however, the ant is actually much closer to the camera than it appears, and so its apparent size relative to the footprint is an optical illusion. Also, Bigfoot made that print first thing in the morning, when his feet were at their smallest. Also it was cold that day.

I was mixing Paranthropus with Gigantopithecus blacki as a little joke, since those are two genus/species I’ve seen proposed for bigfoot

I feel a vague mix of shame and pride for immediately noticing the bluey reference in panel 2 before anything else.

I thought it didn't look large compared to the phone being charged right next to it. See, i find that an average phone is about the size of a large-ish container of Old Spice deodorant, specifically the lavender/mint scent from the GentleMan's line. I just so happened to have one lying around, so I measured it next to my foot, and it seemed to be about the same scale that the footprint was to the phone being charged right next to it. so either this is all a load of crap, or I'm insane. Maybe both.

I'm pretty sure "Paranthropus Black" is the name of a villain in the Harry Potter and/or Star Wars universe(s). Whereas Paranthropus Blacki(e) is the name of the frontman of 80's glam-metal band W.A.S.P.

I attempted to compare the size of my footprint to the size of my pupil as removed and hovering in space in front of my eye (as in the panel), but the results were inconclusive, as I found myself overwhelmingly distracted during the pupil removal process due to someone's high-pitched screaming.
