The air was knocked out of her as soon as she watched the gun go off. It happened in slow motion, every moment stretched out to an eternity. The sound of the gunshot echoed through the living room, reverberating off the walls and piercing through her ears like a thunderclap.

Time seemed to freeze as she watched the scene unfold before her. She saw the flash of the muzzle, the recoil of the gun, and the sudden movement of bodies. There was a moment of silence, a suspended breath in the room, before chaos erupted.

Y/N felt as though her heart stopped beating. Her eyes widened in horror, her breath caught in her throat. Everything seemed to move in a haze, the world spinning around her. The room felt too small, too suffocating, as the reality of what just happened crashed over her like a tidal wave.

She tried to scream, to call out, but no sound escaped her lips. Her mind raced with a million thoughts, a thousand fears. She couldn't move, couldn't think, couldn't breathe. The shock was like a physical force, holding her in place as she watched the aftermath of the gunshot unfold before her eyes.

Harry staggered back, a sharp pain ripping through his abdomen. He stumbled, falling to his knees, his hands instinctively clutching at the searing wound. Blood oozed between his fingers, warm and sticky against his skin. Despite the agony, his eyes remained locked on Y/N, a silent plea in their depths.

“Harry!” She cried as she watched the love of her life, brutally getting hurt.

Before he could even gather his bearings, another shot rang out, this time piercing through his left shoulder. The impact sent him crashing to the floor, a gasp escaping his lips as the pain radiated through his body. The world seemed to blur around him, the edges darkening as he fought against the rising tide of darkness.

His breaths came in ragged gasps, the taste of blood filling his mouth. He felt cold, so cold, the chill seeping into his bones. Every movement sent fresh waves of agony coursing through him, but he couldn't let himself fade away, not yet.

With trembling fingers, he reached out for Y/N, the urgency in his gaze speaking volumes. He wanted to tell her so many things, to convey the love and fear that swirled within him. But the words remained trapped in his throat, drowned out by the rush of blood in his ears.

However, in the chaos and agony of the moment, Harry's worst fears were realized. James, fueled by madness and vengeance, wasn't finished yet. With a cruel grip on Y/N's neck, he yanked her back violently, the force of his grasp causing her to cry out in pain and terror.

"Look what you made me do!" James's voice echoed through the room, filled with a deranged rage. He began to drag Y/N towards another room, his intentions clear. Panic seized her heart as she knew that going to that room would mean a fate far worse than she could imagine.

Summoning every ounce of strength and desperation, Y/N fought against his hold with all her might. She clawed at his hand, kicking and thrashing wildly, the sheer terror lending her a fierce determination. With a sudden burst of energy, she managed to wrench herself free, stumbling backwards with wide, panicked eyes.

Her heart thundered in her chest as she searched for an escape, her mind racing with fear and adrenaline. She knew she had to get out, had to find a way to save herself and Harry. Without a moment's hesitation, she bolted towards the nearest exit, her feet pounding against the floor as she ran for her life.

t was futile. James's grip on her hair was vicious, yanking her back with brutal force that sent a sharp pain shooting through Y/N's scalp.

"Where do you think you're going?!" His voice was a snarl, filled with venomous rage. He shoved the gun into the back of his pants, needing both hands to restrain her. "This is all your fuckin' fault! You had to go and spread your legs for this asshole!"

With a violent shove, he sent Y/N crashing to the floor, the impact jarring her whole body. She fought to shield her belly from the blows, her hands trembling as she tried to protect her unborn child. The sickening sound of James's fists meeting flesh filled the air, each blow landing with a sickening thud that echoed in the room.

Y/N gritted her teeth against the pain, refusing to cry out. She could feel the bruises blooming on her skin, the ache in her bones as James rained down blow after blow. Every strike was a searing agony, but she clung to the desperate hope that somehow, she could endure this, that she could protect her child from this monster's wrath.

Harry's heart twisted with a searing agony as he looked at his beloved, his future wife, in the clutches of this monster. His worst nightmare had become a grim reality before his eyes. The fear etched in Y/N's gaze tore at his soul, the helplessness of the situation consuming him.

Every fiber of Harry's being screamed for him to stand, to protect her, but he was drained of all strength. Pain lanced through his body, a cruel reminder of the bullet tearing through his abdomen, leaving him to bleed out slowly on the floor. He could feel his life slipping away, each heartbeat weaker than the last.

Through the haze of pain and fading consciousness, Harry's eyes locked with Y/N's. He wanted to reach out to her, to offer some semblance of comfort in this nightmare, but his body refused to obey. His heart shattered as he witnessed the horror unfolding before him, the sickening sound of bones breaking echoing in the room.

In that moment, as darkness crept at the edges of his vision, Harry knew that his last memory would be etched with the image of Y/N's fragile form, the agony in her eyes, and the brutal symphony of violence that surrounded her. It was a nightmare he could never have imagined, a nightmare that would haunt him into eternity.

As Harry's eyelids grew heavy, Y/N felt the tears stream down her face, a mixture of pain, fear, and despair overwhelming her. The world seemed to blur around her as she struggled to hold on to consciousness, her body trembling with shock.

In the haze of agony, Y/N could hear the echo of her own sobs mixing with the silence that descended upon the house. It was then that she heard it—a faint sound of hope in the distance. The wail of sirens pierced through the darkness, growing louder with each passing moment.

The realization hit her like a wave crashing against the shore—help was on the way. The neighbors, alerted by the gunshots, had dialed 911, their swift action now a beacon of hope in this nightmare. Y/N clung to that glimmer of light, a surge of determination coursing through her veins.

As soon as James heard the blaring sirens, he bolted, knowing he had to vanish from the scene. Surveying the aftermath, the pool of blood staining the carpet confirmed his twisted victory.

By the time the police and paramedics stormed the house, James had vanished into the night. Y/N lay on the floor, drifting in and out of consciousness as they rushed her into the waiting ambulance.

"Stay with me!" The paramedic's urgent voice pierced through Y/N's fading consciousness as he swiftly administered medications and set up an IV. "She's going into hypovolemic shock," he relayed to his team, their actions quick and precise as they worked to stabilize her.

"Where's Harry? Is he alive?" Y/N managed to whisper, her voice trembling beneath the oxygen mask now covering her face.

"He's in good hands," the paramedic assured, his focus unwavering as he continued his assessment. "How many fingers am I holding up?" he asked, his fingers held in front of her eyes, checking her vision.

"I can’t see" Y/N whimpered, her heart aching with fear. "I'm pregnant." she felt the need to share even though it was obvious.

"I know, sweetheart. You're doing great!" The paramedic's voice was reassuring as they attached monitors and checked her vitals. "Stay with us, Y/N," he urged, noticing her slipping further into unconsciousness.

And that’s when her world went black.

Y/N's eyes slowly fluttered open as she struggled to regain consciousness. Pain shot through her body, a sharp reminder of the ordeal she had endured. She tried to make sense of her surroundings. Bandages covered her face, obscuring her vision, and a dull ache radiated from her abdomen.

With trembling hands, Y/N reached down to touch her swollen belly. The softness instead of the stiffness beneath her fingers brought a surge of alertness, but it was quickly overshadowed by the searing pain that accompanied any movement. She attempted to sit up, panic rising in her chest, but the agony was unbearable.

"Y/N," a gentle voice spoke from beside her. It was Dr. Williams, his presence a comforting reassurance in the haze of pain and confusion. "You're in the hospital. You are okay”.

Y/N struggled to speak, her throat dry and scratchy. "Harry... the baby," she managed to croak out, her heart pounding with fear.

"We're doing everything we can," Dr. Williams replied, his voice filled with compassion. "But you need to rest now. You're safe here."

“Where is my baby?!” She exclaimed, “Is she dead?!” Y/N yelled as she tried her best to get off the bed and rip off everything that was connected to her.

"You've just had major surgery. You can't move like this," Dr. Williams cautioned, his voice filled with concern as he gently tried to calm her down. "Your stitches..."

Y/N winced as pain shot through her abdomen, a sharp reminder of the delicate state of her body. She forced herself to lie back against the pillows, her breathing ragged.

"Where's the baby?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. “Is she dead?” she cried.

Dr. Williams's expression softened as he spoke. "She's in the NICU, getting the best care possible. We had to perform an emergency C-section to get her out safely. She's stable, but we need to monitor her closely."

A wave of relief washed over Y/N at the news of her daughter's safety, but it was quickly replaced by the worry for Harry. "And Harry?" she asked, her heart pounding in her chest.

Dr. Williams hesitated for a moment, his gaze sympathetic. "He's in a critical condition," he said quietly. "He's in surgery right now, and they are doing everything they can."

Tears welled up behind the bandages, silent streams of anguish as she thought of Harry fighting for his life in another room. The weight of the situation bore down on her, and she closed her eyes, allowing exhaustion to pull her back into the darkness of sleep. The beeping of the monitors faded into the background as she drifted, praying for a miracle for her and her unborn child.

"Y/N Y/L/N!" Elizabeth's voice reverberated through the hospital corridor as she rushed in, having been alerted by the authorities as Y/N's emergency contact. The words from the paramedics had struck her like a bolt of lightning, disbelief and fear coursing through her.

"Who are you?" A nurse asked as Elizabeth hurried past the reception area, her eyes scanning for any sign of her daughter.

"Her mother. What room is she in?" Elizabeth's voice trembled with anxiety, her heart pounding in her chest. She had cried the entire journey to the city, the two-hour drive feeling like an eternity in the face of this crisis. All she could think about was reaching her daughter, holding her, and praying that she would be alright.

"She is in room 205. Down the hall to the—" The nurse's voice trailed off as Elizabeth didn't even wait for her to finish. She hurried down the hall, her heart pounding louder with each step.

Upon entering the room, Elizabeth's heart shattered at the sight before her. Y/N lay on the hospital bed, her face obscured by bandages, tubes and monitors surrounding her. The reality of the situation hit her like a tidal wave, and tears welled up in her eyes.

"Oh Y/N!" Elizabeth's voice broke as she made her way to the foot of the bed, her hands reaching out to touch her daughter's foot, seeking any form of connection in this moment of despair. She felt powerless, overwhelmed by the fragility of life and the cruelty of fate. All she could do now was be there, hoping and praying for Y/N's recovery.

The room felt suffocating with the weight of fear and uncertainty. Elizabeth's heart clenched at the sight of her daughter, so fragile and still. She took in every detail, the machines beeping rhythmically, the soft rise and fall of Y/N's chest with each breath.

Gently, Elizabeth reached out to hold Y/N's hand, her touch tender and full of love. "Oh my dear, you're going to be alright," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "You're strong, Y/N. You'll get through this."

Tears streamed down Elizabeth's cheeks as she sat beside the bed, her mind filled with memories of Y/N growing up, the laughter, the joy, the shared moments of love and happiness. Now, seeing her daughter so vulnerable and wounded, Elizabeth felt a surge of fierce protectiveness rise within her.

The door creaked open, and Dr. Williams entered the room, his expression grave. "You must be Elizabeth," he began, his voice gentle yet laden with the weight of the news he bore. "Y/N has undergone major surgery. We had to perform an emergency C-section to deliver the baby."

Elizabeth's heart skipped a beat, her eyes widening in shock. "The baby?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Dr. Williams nodded solemnly. "She's stable for now, but we need to monitor her closely."

A flood of emotions washed over Elizabeth—relief at knowing the baby was alive, fear for her daughter's recovery, and overwhelming love for the new life that had entered their world. She squeezed Y/N's hand tightly, her heart aching with the weight of the moment.

"We'll take good care of her," Dr. Williams assured her, placing a comforting hand on Elizabeth's shoulder. "And we'll do everything we can for Y/N as well. She's a fighter."

As Dr. Williams left the room, Elizabeth settled into the chair beside Y/N's bed, her hand never leaving her daughter's. She prayed silently, willing strength and healing to envelop Y/N and her newborn granddaughter.

The hours passed in a blur of worry and waiting. Elizabeth watched over Y/N, her heart in her throat with every beep of the machines, every flutter of Y/N's eyelids. She whispered words of love and encouragement, hoping that somehow, her daughter could hear her and find the strength to pull through.

Elizabeth made her way out of the hospital room, feeling the weight of exhaustion pressing down on her. The sterile hospital corridors felt like a maze, and she needed a moment of respite.

As she turned a corner, she almost collided with a small group huddled together, their faces etched with worry. Michael, Violet, and William stood there, their eyes immediately finding hers as if seeking answers.

"Elizabeth," William called out, his voice filled with concern. He had recognized her from the pictures on Y/N's desk, a small connection in this whirlwind of chaos. "You are Y/N’s mother, right?"

Elizabeth nodded, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. "Yes," she replied softly, feeling a wave of gratitude for their presence. "Yes, I am."

Michael stepped forward, his expression a mix of anguish and determination. "How is Y/N?" he asked, the worry evident in his voice.

"She's stable," Elizabeth answered, her voice trembling slightly. "She's been through surgery, and now she's resting. The doctors are keeping a close watch on her. And Harry?”

"They were able to bring him back," William explained, his voice heavy with emotion. "But he's been induced into a medical coma while they determine his brain activity. He was down for quite a few minutes."

His words hung in the air, the gravity of the situation weighing heavily on everyone present. Harry, their friend and brother in all but blood, fighting for his life in a hospital bed.

Michael clenched his jaw, his fists tightening at his sides. "He's strong," he said, more to himself than anyone else. "He'll pull through."

“Have his parents been notified?” Elizabeth asked, oblivious to the permanent strain and conflict between him and his family.

“Only his sister. Allison is on her way. He is not in best terms with his parents” William explained to Elizabeth.

Violet reached out, her hand finding Michael's and squeezing it tightly. "We have to believe that he will wake up" she said, her voice filled with determination.

Elizabeth nodded, her heart aching for her daughter and the man she loved. "We have to stay strong for both of them," she said, her voice wavering slightly.

Together, they stood in the hospital corridor, a silent vigil for their loved ones fighting for their lives. The beeping of machines and the hushed voices of nurses filled the air, a stark contrast to the turmoil raging within them.
