Radcliffe's expression darkened as the tension between him and Harry thickened, his body stiff and radiating defensiveness. Harry had remained respectful until now, but his patience was wearing thin. Y/N stood beside him, watching the shift in the room, the growing storm that loomed between the two Alphas. She knew how dangerous this was becoming. Harry's wolf stirred beneath the surface, ready to fight.
Radcliffe’s nostrils flared, his voice low but sharp as a blade. “You come onto my territory and dare to insinuate that someone from my pack would betray me by aiding a rogue?”
Harry clenched his fists, his jaw tightening. “I didn’t come here to start a fight, but your territory borders mine, Radcliffe. You think we’re not going to check every possibility when people from my pack are dead?”
Radcliffe’s eyes blazed with offense. “My people would never—”
Y/N sensed the shift in Harry, the way his muscles tensed as if preparing to shift. His wolf was rising, feeding off the confrontation, the unspoken challenge between Alphas. Her hand shot out, wrapping around his, and squeezed tightly. She could feel his heartbeat racing through his skin, could feel the heat of his barely-contained rage. He was about to lose control.
“Harry,” she whispered softly, her voice steady despite the fear gnawing at her insides. “Not here. Not like this.”
His eyes flicked down to her, briefly breaking the tension with Radcliffe. Her calming touch held him in place, grounding him. He exhaled, his wolf pulling back, but the fire still burned in his eyes.
Radcliffe stepped forward, the air crackling with Alpha energy, but Y/N stood her ground, keeping her hold on Harry. “You insult me, Styles,” Radcliffe growled. “You walk into my home, on my land, and suggest that I cannot control my pack.”
“I’m not looking for a war,” Harry bit out through clenched teeth, his voice cold. “But if someone in your pack knows something, and you’re too blind to see it, then we have a problem.”
Radcliffe snarled, taking another step closer. His wolf was stirring now too, his aura pushing against Harry’s. It was a silent clash of dominance, both testing the limits of the other.
Y/N's heart pounded in her chest. This could get out of hand quickly. If Harry and Radcliffe fought here, it wouldn’t be a simple confrontation. It would be a bloodbath.
“Enough!” she said, her voice cutting through the tension. She stepped between them, locking eyes with Radcliffe. “We’re not here to accuse anyone, but there’s a rogue who’s killed someone from our pack. We all know the risks that poses to everyone. If you want to keep your people safe, help us. If not for us, then for your own.”
Radcliffe’s gaze flickered to Y/N, his wolf seeming to settle slightly, recognizing her position beside Harry. He sighed heavily, clearly offended but unwilling to push it further. “I don't appreciate being accused,” he growled, but his voice had softened. “But for the safety of my pack, I’ll cooperate. For now.”
Harry let out a breath, his tension still lingering but no longer on the brink of exploding. “That’s all we’re asking.”
Radcliffe nodded, his face still cold. “You’d better find your answers quickly, Styles. Or next time, I won’t be so forgiving.”
Radcliffe's gaze shifted, and to Y/N’s utter surprise, the tension that had filled the air moments ago dissipated. A small, cheeky smile crept across his face, a stark contrast to the stormy expression he'd worn just seconds before. His entire demeanor seemed to transform as if the confrontation had never happened. Y/N blinked, momentarily stunned by the sudden shift. She glanced at Harry, whose brow furrowed slightly, though he maintained his composure.
Radcliffe chuckled softly, almost as if he found the entire situation amusing now. "Well," he said, his voice lighter, "it seems I’ve let my temper get the best of me. I apologize." He looked at Harry with a more relaxed expression. "My wife has just invited you both to lunch. She’s quite perceptive—I do hope you’ll join us."
Y/N exchanged a quick look with Harry. The abrupt change in Radcliffe’s tone and demeanor was unexpected, and she couldn’t quite shake the tension still hanging in the air. Yet, there was no denying the shift in atmosphere, and Radcliffe’s invitation seemed genuine—at least on the surface.
Harry gave a polite nod, his voice measured but kind. "We’d be honored to join you. Thank you."
Radcliffe grinned, turning on his heel with a newfound energy. "Wonderful! Follow me."
As they walked through the pack's territory, Radcliffe led them with a casual confidence, his stride easy, as if the earlier standoff hadn’t occurred at all. Y/N could still feel the undercurrent of unease in her chest, but the warmth of Radcliffe’s hospitality had settled over the pack like a sudden breeze. Members of his pack greeted them with respectful nods, though a few cast curious glances at Harry and Y/N as they passed.
The further they walked, the more Y/N began to take in the Iron Claw pack’s surroundings. The homes were spread out, each one crafted with a sturdy, almost rustic charm. Everything here felt lived-in, a tight-knit community that wasn’t so different from their own.
Radcliffe's house soon came into view—larger than the others but still fitting the overall aesthetic of the pack. It was nestled among tall trees, giving it an air of privacy despite being near the heart of the territory. As they approached, Radcliffe turned back to them with that same easy smile. "My wife loves hosting guests. She is thrilled to have you both here."
As they stepped through the doorway of Radcliffe's house, Y/N was surprised by the warm atmosphere. The home was cozy, far different from the tense energy outside, and she could feel the shift in the air almost immediately. Just as she was about to take another step, a soft voice echoed from deeper in the house.
"You're just in time. I was worried lunch would get cold."
Y/N turned toward the source, curious to meet the Luna who seemed to have such emotional sway over Radcliffe. A woman appeared from the kitchen, wiping her hands on a towel with an easy grace. She had chestnut brown hair that fell in loose waves over her shoulders, and her dark hazel eyes sparkled with a quiet intelligence. Her smile was warm and welcoming, the kind that made Y/N feel instantly at ease.
“I'm Sienna,” she introduced herself, stepping forward with an outstretched hand, her tone soft but confident.
Y/N grasped her hand, noting how Sienna’s presence seemed to fill the room despite her gentle demeanor. She was about Y/N’s height, with a slender, athletic build that spoke of strength. Her olive-toned skin glowed with a natural warmth, and though her features were delicate, there was something undeniably powerful about her.
“Y/N,” she responded, returning the smile. “It’s really nice to meet you.”
Sienna’s smile widened, and Y/N felt an unexpected sense of connection. There was an openness in Sienna’s expression that made her feel like they could talk for hours.
“I’ve heard quite a bit about you,” Sienna said with a knowing glance at Harry, before turning back to Y/N. “I hope you’re hungry—I made way too much food.”
Y/N chuckled softly, already feeling the tension of the day easing as she followed Sienna into the dining area. “I think we could both use a good meal after today.”
As they walked, Y/N made a mental note to thank Sienna later. It was clear that this Luna had a certain power over her Alpha—perhaps not in strength, but emotionally, her influence was undeniable. Sienna seemed to bring balance to Radcliffe, grounding him when his temper flared. Y/N admired that, feeling a quiet respect growing for her new acquaintance.
As they sat down at the table, Sienna glanced over at Y/N and smiled. "It's not always easy, you know? Keeping the peace." Her voice held a hint of humor, but there was depth in her words.
Y/N nodded. “I can imagine. You seem to handle it with grace, though.”
Sienna winked, her eyes twinkling. "It’s a skill you pick up when you’ve got an Alpha who thinks with his fists half the time." They both laughed, and in that moment, Y/N knew they’d clicked. There was an unspoken understanding between them, a bond that formed instantly.
Sienna's personality was easygoing yet wise. She had a sharp wit that balanced her calm exterior, and Y/N could tell she was the type of person who could disarm anyone with just a smile or a few kind words. As they shared a meal, Y/N felt a sense of camaraderie with Sienna that she hadn’t expected to find in the midst of everything that had happened. This Luna, despite her soft-spoken nature, held immense power within the pack—emotionally, at least. Y/N admired her for it.
As the meal progressed, the tension that had lingered at the start of the visit slowly dissipated. The four of them fell into easier conversation, laughter mingling with the clinking of silverware. Radcliffe seemed more relaxed, and Sienna, with her natural warmth, made the atmosphere even more inviting.
Sienna turned to Y/N with a curious smile as she poured more water into Y/N’s glass. "Y/N, can I ask you something?" she began, her tone casual but her eyes inquisitive. "I don’t sense your wolf. It’s unusual... Is there a reason?"
Y/N hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to explain something she herself didn’t fully understand. Before she could respond, Harry, seated beside her, spoke up, his voice calm but serious.
"We've been trying to figure that out," he said, glancing between Sienna and Radcliffe. "Y/N’s bloodline is... uncertain. Her wolf hasn’t surfaced, and we don’t know if it ever will." He sighed, the weight of the uncertainty clear on his face. "We’re not sure why."
Sienna nodded thoughtfully, her brow furrowing in concentration. "That’s interesting. Sometimes, bloodlines can hold secrets... things even the wolves themselves don’t know." She tapped her fingers against the edge of her glass, her eyes flicking over to Y/N with curiosity. "It could be something buried deep in your family history. Have you looked into it?"
Y/N shook her head slowly. "Not really. We don’t have much information about my family’s origins. Harry and I were just planning to dig deeper, but we haven’t made much progress."
Sienna leaned forward slightly, excitement twinkling in her hazel eyes. "Well, the Iron Claw Pack has records—old ones. We’ve kept track of bloodlines for generations. If your family had ties here, there’s a chance we might find something."
Y/N’s eyes widened at the possibility. "Do you really think so?" she asked, feeling a surge of hope.
Sienna nodded confidently. "It’s worth a try. We could go through the books after lunch, see if anything matches up. Sometimes, these things are more connected than they seem."
Y/N felt a flicker of excitement as the idea of finally learning more about her bloodline took root. Maybe there was something in her past, something that could explain why her wolf remained hidden. And if anyone could help her uncover it, Sienna seemed like the perfect ally.
Just as they were about to dive deeper into the discussion, Harry’s phone buzzed on the table, cutting through the conversation. He frowned as he picked it up, glancing at the screen. It was Niall.
Harry immediately answered, his voice low. "Niall? What’s going on?"
Harry's expression darkened as he listened to Niall's voice on the other end of the call. His jaw clenched slightly efore he glanced at Y/N, holding out the phone to her. "It's Niall. He needs to talk to you," he said softly, concern flickering in his eyes.
Y/N took the phone with a confused frown. "Hello?"
"Y/N, I’ve been trying to reach you," Niall's voice came through, edged with tension. "Where is your phone?”
She sighed, rubbing her forehead. "It broke the day I passed out. I haven't had the chance to get it fixed yet."
There was a pause before Niall spoke again, his words slower, more deliberate this time. "Fred's been trying to contact you. He’s worried. Your father… he escaped from the hospital."
Y/N froze, her heart skipping a beat. "Escaped?" she echoed, her voice barely a whisper. "What do you mean escaped? He didn't…?"
"No," Niall replied, his voice filled with apprehension. "He didn’t sign anything or said anything to where he was heading. He just left. Fred's been asking questions, and I don’t know what to tell him. He’s been trying to find you."
Y/N’s grip tightened on the phone, her pulse racing. The idea of her father being on the loose, after everything that had happened, sent a wave of anxiety crashing over her. She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to steady herself.
"What do you want me to tell Fred?" Niall pressed gently.
Y/N took a deep breath, swallowing the rising panic. "Tell him…" she trailed off, thinking fast. "Tell him I’ll reach out soon. That I’m okay. But Niall, don’t tell him where I am yet."
Niall paused before agreeing. "Alright. But Y/N… be careful”
