She watched him as he lay beside her with his arm securely placed over her waist, holding her close. His eyes were tightly shut, his mouth slightly opened, and his complexion relaxed. She reached over and raised the blinds a bit to see better yet making sure that the sun didn’t want him. She leaned in and kissed his nose softly before sliding out of bed carefully.
Y/N brushed her teeth and ran her fingers through her hair then washed her face before heading downstairs. She prepared some coffee for everyone knowing that everyone would need it.
“Hi” Y/N smiled at Sarah as she found her trying to figure out how to start the coffee machine. She turned around, smiling sheepishly at Y/N, a bit embarrassed. “You need some help?” She giggled, lending her a hand.
“Thank you” Sarah smiled as she leaned back against the counter whilst Y/N took some almond milk and regular milk out of the fridge.
“How’d you sleep?” Y/N asked while struggling to pour the coffee beans without spilling them everywhere.
Good” She blushed, “The bed was comfy” she nodded repeatedly trying to convince her.
“You mean Mitch was comfortable?” Her eyes widen and her cheeks turned pink reminding her of Harry.
“How you know?” She giggled while shaking her head. She was surprised that Y/N had noticed and that she hadn’t said anything before, especially with the boys around. Sarah liked that.
“It was easy. The way that both of you act around one another. I just figured” Y/N shrugged as she walked up to the pantry. “Would you like something to eat? Eggs, avocado toast, oatmeal, cereal, fruit salad?” She offered her as she looked through.
“Whatever you are having” Y/N nodded and took a few avocadoes out and a loaf of bread. “How was Harry?” She asked instantly making her gloat. Y/N started preparing everything while she sat on the other side of the island on one of the stools.
“He is good” She smiled as she remembered yesterday’s events and replayed them in her mind. She nodded back and began helping Y/N in making the food. “Do you want to sit outside?” Y/N asked as she looked to the side and notice how beautiful the day was.
“Yes. It looks great out there” After the food was ready, they both carried it out and sat on a table beside the pool. Y/N could still remember her mom purposely asking the decorator for a small table outside just so they could enjoy the nice weather when given the chance. “Do you like Harry?” Sarah bluntly asked her as she took a sip of her coffee.
“Why?” Y/N suddenly felt like she was answering a final exam question.
“I do. I do” She answered then took a bite out of her toast. “It’s not that hard to do so” She took another sip of coffee to wash down the food before leaning back on her seat. “He is just so different, so gentle, so sweet and so carefree. I feel so comfortable around him. I find it easy to talk to him about anything whether it is about my parents or about my feelings and how I am feeling.” Y/N tore her gaze from the sky view to meet gazes with her.
“I guess I just ask because you are so out of his league, you know?” There it was again. A constant need for humans to tag people based on their appearance, but Y/N didn’t blame her. She had grown accustomed to it even though that misconception always led to judging people the wrong way.
“Sometimes things aren’t what they seem” Y/N explained before continuing to eat and enjoy her breakfast.
“What do you mean?” She questioned finishing her breakfast and now just drinking her cappuccino.
“Do you see this apartment? I am sure you notice the smiling family portraits on the wall at the entrance, right?” She cleaned the corners of her mouth with a napkin. “Yet, this family is broken up and I am the only one around” She smiled, “We might be wealthy, but our family relations are toxic. Everyone is just too engulfed in traveling and shopping” Y/N shrugged as she had her last bite. “I am thankful for all the opportunities that my parent’s hard work has provided me, but I miss the simple things. For example, coming home to my mother, to see my dad arrive from work every day, to have dinner as a family.”
“You are right. We all got different types of problems” Y/N nodded back as we looked at the horizon and enjoyed each other’s company, the cold fresh air, and the silence. It was one of those autumn afternoons when the sun shines brightly enough to feel it burn against your skin, but it was windy, and the temperatures were low enough to keep you cool.
“Hey” we heard the door from the backyard, slide open and Harry walked out with sleepy eyes, messy hair, and a confused expression across his face. “How long have you two been up?” He asked with a rough, groggy voice as he made his way out of the house.
“Just a few minutes” Sarah answered as she leaned back on her chair and waved at her friend. He walked up to Y/N and leaned down, wrapped his arms around her, and kissed the side of her head. It was innocent and soft, but sweet.
“Are you cold?” He whispered running his hands on her bare forearms. She shook her head and unwrapped herself from him.
“Would you like some breakfast?” She asked as she stood up before him. She wrapped her arms around his torso and kiss his chin.
“Morning” He smiled and shook his head before leaning down and kissing her. Sarah coughed and they pulled away. Harry hid his face in the crook of my neck while they giggled. “Sorry” he mumbled against her skin. Sarah was laughing softly and shaking her head.
“I get it now. She is hot and has a brain” Sarah shrugged, getting up from her seat.
“I am going to check on the others” She excused herself and headed inside leaving both alone.
“I thought you had left” He added as he sat down on the same seat that she had previously sat down on. Y/N slowly sat down sideways on his lap, and I wrapped an arm around his neck while she held her cup with the other.
“I was just hungry, and I needed some coffee. Would you like some?” She offered him as she gently pulled on his hair.
“I don’t like it. It’s too strong” Y/N frowned and nodded,
“I am more of a tea guy. So how is this going to work?” He asked while holding her by the waist. “I mean us. How are we going to see each other?”
“Don’t worry about that. We’ll see each other. I’ll make sure of it” Y/N had a few things up her sleeve, but she wasn’t planning to tell him. She wanted it to be a surprise. He only nodded back and leaned in for another kiss. Y/N smiled and gladly gave him one. After a small make-out session, they walked back inside where everyone is waiting for them.
“How did you guys sleep?” She asked them as she washed her plate and Sarah’s and place them in the dishwasher.
“You got comfy beds” Jeff smiled as he sat down on the last stool.
“What are we doing now? I am starving.”
“Me too” Liam agreed, he lifted his head from the counter. Y/N looked over at Harry who was leaning against the country and yawning.
“We could order in” Sarah suggested as she pours herself another cup of coffee.
“We could watch a movie too” Y/N agreed, “It’s time for lunch either way” They all nodded and start arguing about what to eat and from where. They finally settle on Taco Bell and made the order.
“I am going to head upstairs and take a shower,” she told them as they all made their way into the living room. “There are drinks in the fridge. Help yourselves” She smiled at them before running up the stairs. She decided to take a quick shower and then blow dry her hair. She settled on a burnt orange shirt and some mom jeans and a belt. She decided to just moisturize my face and leave it without any makeup before heading down.
Harry was sitting on the corner of the couch rolled up into a little ball. As soon as he noticed her, he sat back up and reached out for her. She maneuvered her way through everyone and make sure to turn on the fireplace noticing everyone cuddling up.
“Oh man, can this get any better?” Mitch said as he tugged his arms on the back of his head. Liam laughed and so did Jeff.
“Don’t get used to it” Mitch commented as he cuddled closer to Sarah. Y/N sat beside Harry and leaned over to pull the blankets out of a basket. She throws one at Sarah and Liam so everyone could share one. She takes one for them and spread it over their bodies.
“You look beautiful” he whispered pulling her closer to him. Y/N smiled and pecked his lips before turning her attention toward the TV.
They were halfway through the movie when the food arrived. The boys ate and then they decided that it was finally time for everyone to return home since they all had classed the next day. Y/N insisted on taking Harry home which he eventually agreed after much convincing. “What are you doing after class tomorrow? She asked as she drove across town. Y/N held his hand tightly, resting them on her lap.
“Nothing much. I think I might just catch up on homework and study” She hummed back, realizing that she was going back to an empty apartment. It had been nice having everyone at the apartment. “Do you have practice?” He asked dragging her out of her deep thoughts.
“I do. We have another game on Wednesday. It’s going to be a tough one” She could still remember Coach Mary’s pep talk on Friday. She had yelled at them, for constantly all three hours of practice.
“I am sure you’ll guys will do great” Harry commented as he looked through his phone. She agreed as I finally pulled up into his street. Y/N stopped the car right in front of his door like always. He unbuckled himself and leaned over the consul.
“I don’t want you to go” Y/N smiled feeling butterflies in her stomach. She suddenly felt like she was in fourth grade.
“Me neither” Y/N whispered as she brushed her lips against his. He smiled one last time before kissing her. They kissed for a few minutes until she finally pulled away.
“Go” She pecked his lips once more before he opened the door and got out. Y/N sat in the car for a few minutes until she saw him enter his home. But just before she could start the car again, Harry ran out.
“My parents are here. They came to visit” He exhaled loudly, “My mom wanted me to ask you if you wanted to have coffee and dessert with us” He stuttered, fiddling with his hands and incredibly nervous about what she might say. “I-I know it’s very soon, but they would like to meet you.” He added, “You don’t have to”.
“Can I park here?” She asked, suddenly incredibly nervous to meet his parents. They had only spent time together a few times, but she was willing to meet them.
“Yes,” He exhaled, feeling relieved that she had agreed. She turned off the car and got out. She was only thankful that she had dressed appropriately.
