Just out of curiosity, what is the relationship between “A Colorful Life” and “Plan? What Plan?” I read one after the other, and for the most part, they have the same story beats, scenes, interactions, etc. There are some interesting differences between the two, but a lot of reading “A Colorful Life” was just rereading for me. I can give specific examples for the similarities and differences; this just stands out to me because of how different some of your other stories feel.

Fabled Webs

Nothing at all. ACL began because I was fed up with writing other stories and wanted something feelgood-y. Before it got more serious and developed an actual plot, it was just supposed to be a quest about a hilariously OP Pokemon Hero who just wants to dick around. Some of the story beats probably feel same-y because a) they're set in similar time frames and b) I really didn't think too hard about writing ACL. It's a quest so future planning really didn't factor in much. Other than that... Chat votes the way they vote. They're the ones that control Blake, not me.

I see, thanks for answering. I thought it might be a rewrite, but the similarities make sense if it was just meant to be a fun story. Props for putting out your writing.

Makes sense. They start out similairly in some ways but at where we're currently reading have massively diverged.

I think it still follows the same broad-strokes: MC is a powerful and unknown factor, so Coil has just orchestrated a gang confrontation to see how he reacts and hopes to see his powers in action; he has a fake double-date situation going on with Amy, Vicky, and Dean while in his cape persona; etc. It’s fascinating to see the differences in their powers though. Even if the story leads to the same destinations, the paths Blake takes to get there are different (e.g., turning into a bug leads to a Taylor side-quest; being able to create his own material leads to his interactions with Sabah, an entirely new character; etc.). The interludes are also really interesting, like how Coil’s offered a lot of insight into his character, so it’s been a great read.
