Was also called The Final Destination because it was supposed to be the last one but as this did better than frankly it should have done because it sucked they had to make another one

In 2004 Chuck Palahniuk published a short story in Playboy magazine called Guts. (Later released in a book of short stories called Haunted) Where the pool death scene is the exact same. I have no evidence, but I believe the writers “borrowed” it from him. Maybe they had his permission. Idk.
