Attention Institute Personnel!

Pilot Week 4 has just concluded and now the time has come for you to make your choice! But, don't cast your vote too quickly, a few things to keep in mind...

Remember that every show from this week will be added to our ongoing Incoming Series. This vote instead determines how much effort will be dedicated to each one. Certain options take more work than others, so the top pick will not necessarily be the most frequent.

Additionally, multiple choice voting has been enabled! If you have a few different picks in mind, feel free to vote for as many as you like.

Thanks for your support, and see you at the polls!

Battlegroup was immensely fun, or it was either that alt history.

Ragathiel

Battlegroup for sure!

James Calum

Recommendation for the building your Battlegroups series: Build an anti-Reaper fleet from Mass Effect

Kevin Schawinski

Imperium of Man battle group let’s goooooo

Alain Vollant

The Alternate history is the least bad of this bunch, IMO. I'd rather see more of the Beasties or Location/Geography from the previous choices. Or, As I've already mentioned elsewhere, a section name Altar, where the writer, conceptor, of those universe could be explore. That's my 2 cents

IceLordCryo

The battlegroup video was a lot of fun, and I’d love to see other sci-fi settings get the same attention. And my heart will always be with Alternate History lol

Everything That Annoyed Me In,,, Is great; it feels like the private rants of an old explorer that knew not to put it in the official logs but it got leaked regardless. Alternate history is also very fun, though it runs the risk of being confusing to people who either miss the disclaimer or are just stumbling across the video. BYB is pedantic perfection and is a great extension of the "Name your fleet" series of videos. Oddly, the worst place to be alive feels more negative than the first option. I also don't think it has any staying power as the negativity can be grading on the soul while ETAMI (that needs a better acronym) can go into extreme depth on the topic at hand, this is limited to kicking in open doors and surface level readings. That said, this is templin so the scale is from a solid 8 to a 10 and all 4 options would be amazing.

Battlegroup ia the way to go.

I really did not like "Everything That Anoyed Me In ...". The entire internet hated that show, it did not bring anything new or interesting. You have a better concept if you tried to find the good in something that sucks reather than just pilling on. I loved the fleet video, please do a Babylon 5 version.

Kevin Rooney

"Everything That Annoyed Me In..." felt like the kind of show that could go very wrong and turn into a glorified CinemaSins. Everything else, though, was enjoyable.

Loren Casuto

Loved the Alternate History and Building your battlegroup.

Rachel

Definitely "Building Your Battlegroup" for me! Would love to see some Star Trek and Mass Effect scenarios.

Argo Star

100% build your own battlegroup is my favorite.

GhostReaper

While I see plenty of potential for the Alternate History series, I feel that a lot of other channels do the same thing to varying degrees. That's not to say you should abandon the idea outright. Maybe keep it in mind as a semi-frequent video series or even bring it up again for next years poll.

crazael

It was really a toss up between Build your Battlegroup and Alternate History, for me. The other two just failed to be that appealing.

Miy Eterp

I sure like Battle Group (best be Stellaris Invicta style Battle Groups likely GTU &/or AC) as it's the most voted for now, though I also like alternate history & the worst place to be alive too.

James Stacks

I love yall videos, but I'm just not interested in cinemasins on this channel

Maxdavant

X_X I really enjoyed ‘Everything that annoyed me in…’ thought I’d be way more popular.

lemonsofliberty

Looking at the polls it seems obvious that Battlegroup won. I hope Worst Place To Be Alive, even if it doesn't win, does eventually return. Maybe not now, but eventually.

Logan Manley

CinemaSins already exists. "Everything that Annoyed me in..." isn't unique and doesn't make use of the Templin Institute's specific skills. That's why I reckon it's losing.

Lord Hosk

everything that annoyed me just felt like every "I hate new star wars" "Check out these plot holes" rant videos on the youtube with inexplicably a million views. Fortunately yours didn't just ramble on and on returning to the same things over and over again while saying "but I digress I will really move on this time" but it just didn't feel fun or informative it was just picking on a series you didn't like. I didn't even finish the video, Im not devoting an hour of my time to hear what people hate, I don't have that much time in my life I want to hear what you love, why you love it and why you want to share your love with me.

Cassie Bode

build your own battlegroup wasn't what i was hoping for but of the 4 was by far the best. everything that annoyed me just gets me pessimism going and worst place to be alive i feel like could just be a subsection of a main video talking about the setting like the atlas series for example. Alt history was significantly better than i was expecting but it plays second fiddle to battlegroup

Chrono Sentinal

Love all your military building videos! If I had to choose one it'd be the alternate history, as it follows the Institute's motto: Investigating Alternate Worlds.

Stephen James

I really liked the format of your alternate history ep.

WatcherCCG

Definitely show me more battlegroups. I wanna see an Empire that's actually COMPETENT for once.

J.D. Locke

I really enjoyed "Building Your Battlegroup!" So many possibilities across alternate worlds (including ground forces)! Alternate history in the usual narrative format would also be a welcome change of pace and good for aspiring worldbuilders. The other two seem like nitpicking (the junk food of content. Fun, but not really substantive).

Douglas Ribeiro

I love the "Building Your Battlegroup" type videos a lot, and I'm glad it's winning, but I wish the "Everything That Annoyed Me In" option was winning more since it's just fun, and gets you thinking about how much work goes into (or doesn't) creating a coherent world.

Duane Anthony Malpass

I hope the Building a battlegroup idea continues and updates soon, as your first video gave a deeper look and new perspective on a classic franchise and the ships within (their uses and potential uses untapped in canon) in an engaging manner beyond the limits of tv/movie guidelines (pacing). Have you decided which faction from which IP is next? This is more challenging the more I think about since few IP’s have potentially fully realizable militaries: The cylons from the reimagined Battlestar Galactica have 2 ships, the factions from Stargate SG-1 such as the Tau’ri aren’t much better on that front. Starfleet from Star Trek has a dizzying array of ships but they tend to be ‘do everything ships’ that would be hard to place in a specific role over another difficult-other than the Defiant class (destroyer). One of the factions from the Honorverse would be a possibility if anyone was interested. Be hilarious if you tried to do a Gundam faction: “So we’ve ascertained optimal firing points for the HYPER MEGA PARTICLE CANNON, but where do we put the energy boomerangs, lightsaber wielding mechs and effeminate emo teenagers…” Babylon 5’s Earthforce would be would be an interesting possibility-the fleet has clearly defined escorts, cruisers and heavy hitters in ships of distinct styling, excellent physics and overall great shop design such as the Omega and Warlock. The MCRN from the expanse would be fascinating whether you did the books, tv or some merger-the tv series has 2 on-screen unnamed ships that I would be interested in hearing your opinions on. Whatever you choose to do, I am interested and excited to see it in the future!
