Content

Hey everyone,

We recently had a discussion in the comments about when new episodes of Roundtable Hold debut, and want to know from you lovely lot whether there's an actual preference or not.

To recap the situation.

A typical episode of Roundtable Hold covers events within the previous two episodes of RETRY.

During Part One of the series, new episodes of Roundtable Hold would be sent out the day after that second episode entered into Early Access for patrons.

Currently, during Part Two of RETRY: Elden Ring, new episodes of Roundtable Hold have been going out the day after that second episode goes live on YouTube.

The reason we changed this during Part Two is because we realised not everyone has the chance to watch their Early Access episode within the first 24 hours of receiving the link. And they might not want Roundtable Hold accidentally spoiling the contents of that unwatched episode.

Episode 20 is a great example. It leads with imagery of Aunty Finchy marrying Ranni. Now most of you probably know, at some point, that's going to happen... though maybe not in that next episode.

The question is: do people care?

Maybe we're being too spoiler-phobic for no reason at all, and people would prefer the latest episode as soon as possible.

We genuinely have no preference. So we're opening it up to you, the people who watch the show.

If you do have a preference, make sure you vote in the poll by the end of this Friday, August 2nd.

(The third choice says "I don't care" but we know you all obviously care. Read that as... "I don't mind either way.")

We'll simply go with the majority on this one.

Love RKG x

P.S. Collections

We realised LOADS of people don't know about these.

Basically, Patreon has made playlists possible for the exclusive content you have access to.

We've curated Collections for all our key shows like Roundtable Hold, Lore MasterClass, and Producer Streams.

So if you quickly want to find an old episode, or browse what's available on another tier, make sure you're using Collections.

You can find all of our current ones at this link or browse there from the RKG Patreon homepage.

Just happy to get an upload whenever :)

Adam Rav

Definitely prefer it after Early Access, but respect the consideration for spoilers 🫡

John Rodger

Day after early access for my selfish needs 😅 I like the 1-2 punch personally. Perhaps treading carefully with the thumbnails is a compromise here?

Joey Lacon

Should go up day before, confuse the fuck out of everyone. 😅

James Clarke

Could you introduce each roundtable with a “make sure you’ve watched up to episode xx” type message? That way no one has any excuse for being spoilered.

Rory MacLeod

Not going to lie, I had to read those choices over a few times... Kept thinking I was reading the same choice twice!

Darren Walsh

Can you upload an episode daily?

Shane Brohan

Never Spoils, Its the Extra i Wait for After I watch the Episode 🤘🤘

Philip McMurray

Usually view the episodes the day of release and like watching RTH the next day. Realise everyone have different schedules.

Mike Groves

I wish it didn’t say ‘I don’t care’ - because I do care! But I don’t mind when it’s released😅

TheLegendOfLiam

Maybe if spoilers are a worry do a piss take "you won't belive this" face as the thumbnail for the first week?

Alexis Van Swearingen

producer here! I always look forward to (read: can’t wait for) RTH episodes - it’s one of my favorite RKG offerings of all time. my inclination is for RTH to release alongside Rety going public, but if it’s more considerate of the community as a whole to release them alongside Rety episodes releasing to early-access, let’s do it! either way, I’ll just be waiting patiently (read: twitching for a fix) in my little corner of Texas 💛 thanks for all you do for us boys!

rkg

That's what we meant!

rkg

We know you all care!

DocumentedMadness

Watching roundtable the day after the episode airs on early access has been a nice little treat, but I also watch everything as soon as I can. Good on you for sending it out to the community to decide. Mark of a good business!

rkg

Mate, that was a confusing post to write in general!

Onos

"I don't care" meant with love. Whatever you guys decide works for me. Ps I'm wanking while writing this

Landon Tyler Cook

Auntie Finchy gets married? Wow, spoiled again. I put I don't care but I'll watch anything you put out. Spoilers be damned!

Justin Usher

I just love the content boys. You stick to your own time line

Cliona Whitelaw

I'm so far behind watching Roundtable Hold that it won't really have any relevance to me at all, so I voted that I don't care! :)

Brammel the Mammal

I don't mind either way, just here for the good times. If I'm honest, I didn't even realise that the upload schedule had changed

Lawrie

You could just change the Roundtable titles to only say which Retry episodes they relate to rather than the full topic of that Roundtable episode, which would hide spoilers while letting people know where they need to catch up to

Robert Fulmer

I just saw a YT comment about this and less than a week later, you guys are polling. Mad respect for your attention to your community and craft, even with the small things.

Michelle D

I’m fine with whatever schedule works for you. I also appreciate your constant thoughtfulness toward the community.

LuggKnut

I really enjoyed watching RTH the day after the new ep dropped. I'm likely to forget half of what you're talking about the week after! 🤣

Alice Maguire

I'll admit it has broken 'the flow' a bit as an Early Access-er when the conversation is about something from the previous video.

Scott Zeall

‘I don’t care’ sounded too crass, so please accept my vote instead as ‘I don’t mind, whichever is best for you boys’.

Paul Grabovac

I love the series, I've voted IDC because I want the voices who are impacted to be heard the loudest.

Alexander Rowland

Voting I don’t care so that people who actually do care get to vote

Nick

As someone who watches right away, I like it right after the episode hits early access. Sometimes I forget that the episode won’t get into the cool lore stuff from the most recent early access episode.

Andy Roberts

I don't mind about the spoilers, but if it's possible some people do, they should have that right protected IMO.

Mooshty

I dont care sounds a bit mean but I pressed it because I really do not mind lol

Spencer Waters

"I don't care" hah. Sounds like "Why are you bothering me with this" I think whatever is easiest for you boys as I genuinely don't have a preference.

Adam Block

Regarding this. I think the day after either way. I usually do watch right away and it gives me something extra to watch on the weekends. :)

CHRIS OSBORNE

Don't care in the best possible sense x

TyrannoPaulusRex

I'd love to see it on the Friday afternoon the day before the next episode, a la ptt. I'm always a bit disappointed at the end of RTH when you head off to play the game and I have to wait for a while for the next one.

Matt Folding

I think that’s a great suggestion that would make both sides happy!

Matt Edwards

Still trying to work out why Americans refer to eggs as "over easy" without having to make decisions like.

Mitch

Sooner the better boys

Mitch

We also do "over hard"

Matt Edwards

I suppose it's probably on the same level as a Brit saying we have egg "and soldiers". That's not a play on Head and Shoulders, it's a "runny" egg with bread sliced into strips to dip. I know this sounds mad but hopefully the boys can back me up.

Chad Lyle Minn

I voted day after but if it’s easier for you the other way and leads to a better work life balance or is better for the business I don’t really care.

Trevor Macintosh

Willing to bet that the mass majority of we slugs either have played through Elden Ring a number of times already, or are doing so with the recent-ish release of the DLC. So I imagine spoilers would be down to, "So that's what they're up to." Rather than, "I've never seen that before."

Jacob Rosales

I pay for early content, i want my early content! Or whatever works best for everyone. Im not picky. But i do LOVE having content available at the soonest possible time.

TheLastLagam

I'd probably side on the episode dropping as it is, but the title being round table hold - episode X, and then in the first 60secs give a whistlestop of the contents. I watch my episodes in batches and then binge through RTH, and so avoiding anything in the title / thumbnail that shares future eps contents is preferable to me :)

Stefano

I don’t mind, whatever works best for you Lads

Joe Kershaw

I don't think "spoilers" is a really thing in this case, I'm sure most people watching have already played the game years ago and know what happens; it's not a "spoiler" that Finchy marries Ranni because that's what Ranni's quest line entails, and we know you're doing all the quest lines. And anyone who hasn't played the game won't really know what the picture is about, anyway.

Jack Hayes

I would go with after the early access drops, watching a round table hold about an episode from a few weeks ago when a lot has progressed since can break the flow a bit

Harrison Waters

Not all of us! But I've normally watched the episode before RTH comes out. So I still voted for the same day option.

Trevor Macintosh

I understand, however that's why I specified the mass majority. Higher chance that more of their audience has played or viewed the game previously.

Andrew Nedelka

Personally, RTH is a Patreon exclusive, so I struggle to understand the logic/concern over aligning it to the public release of an episode. For me, I found the shift confusing because on my Patreon timeline I’m seeing a RTH episode release the day after an episode that isn’t included in the discussion.

Liam O'Neill

Whatever you boys think will deliver the best content. I'll happily wait if needs be. Appreciate ER so much more after listening to Roundtable!

Sam Grant

I honestly hadn't noticed a difference between part 1 & 2...

David P

Whatever's best and easiest for you three lads and your work/life balance. loving Roundtable,it really adds so much

Darren Steele

Yeah as early as possible seems to make the most sense.

Lundinstrom

I feel like most people would want it as early as possible, *but* not at the expense of making it harder to make. I don't care in the nicest way, I just don't want it being too hard/too much for y'all (if that makes sense).

Chase

Voted I don’t care. Even as a Patreon supporter, I may get to the early access episode whenever. Same with Roundtable. I’ll get to it when I get to it.

Graeme campbell

I would say whatever is easier on you guys as you're doing an amazing job but as a bonus for higher tierd slug's keep it as is ( following day after early access) But as I said it's no big deal just don't want you guy's to get burnt out or anything keep up the amazing work Rory, Gav and Krupes 🧡

Mrs. Brown

Like the majority, it's whatever works best for your schedule. I honestly just love getting the extra content and seeing Gav and Rory 's journey of the game and lore. Krupa does such an amazing job of explaining things. ❤️

Devan McClure

I honestly don’t think there should be a stress either way. Whenever works best for you boys, you are the creators of the content and us slugs are merely the beneficiaries. ❤️

Matthew Edwards

Two Matt Edwards’ are RKG Patrons? 🤯

Rangi Csiszár

Personally for me, it doesn't really matter when it comes out. I just hope that if you go back to the old system, it won't cause you lads extra hassle now. 💜

Zayn Bass

I personally do not mind. So as long as yous have fun making these episodes and the episodes don’t conflict with your schedules, then I don’t care. But from a practical standpoint, I think having the RTH ep release immediately after the Early Access ep would make sense, as both content releases (RTH and Early Access) are exclusive to patreon and so it wouldn’t provide much complications between Public viewers VS Patreon viewers. Like I said, do as you please. I do not mind. I just thought I’d bring my interpretation of the situation from a practicality viewpoint. But, as I said, from a personal standpoint I’m happy as long as yous are

Karz Khanna

Personal preference is to have it asap. If I haven't had time to watch the latest ep, then thatll take priority over RTH. Of course, whatever allows you guys to make the best content without pressure is the optimal answer!

Will

Whatever is easiest for you

TurboBadger

Please do whatever's best for you!

Alexander Mulhern

Welp, missed the cut-off - but definitely felt the flow for patreons felt better with it being the day after initial EA release. Just having to mentally recalibrate that an episode of RH is not talking about something I watched the day before, when it felt like a natural 1-2 punch. Appreciate the thinking on avoiding spoilers, but thumbnails and episode titles, for me - are just part and parcel of it, and a little tease of content is not a problem, but an appetiser. If I had no idea about Elden Ring and saw that thumbnail, I'd be like "wait, what? I gotta go watch this episode now and see whats going on here!"

Adam Flensborg

I can see most want it the day after early access but I actually like it as it is now even though I’m an early access patron. Exactly because I rarely watches the new retry on the day. So I don’t mind. But also not something I care about a lot.. 😊

Kenneth Allsop

I'm definitely on team 'day after early access.' I don't always get to watch the episodes on the day they go up as I work weekends, but I think it makes more sense to have it appear alongside the episodes it's directly referring to.
