RKG Is Running the London Marathon (Patreon)

We’ve run the London 10K for our favourite charity, SpecialEffect, every year since RKG began, and thanks to your generosity we’ve raised £47,572.

But we wanted to do more, something bigger.

So we spoke to SpecialEffect and said we’d be up for running The Big One, and we recently found out we’ve been given their places in the London Marathon. It’s an immense honour for us and we want to do everything we can to make the most of this opportunity, which is why we’re setting ourselves the target of raising £50,000.

It’s a big goal, but one we think we can reach over the next 8 months because we know how amazing you, our community, are – it’s something you’ve shown, time and time again, when we’ve raised money for SpecialEffect in the past.

This post is simply to announce that we’re running the race and that our fundraising page is now live!

So if you want to donate, please do, but we’ll be talking about this more in the months to come. We recently visited SpecialEffect HQ for a really fun video that you’ll see in the coming months. 

We’ll also be updating you on our training over on Shield Up and we're planning some special livestreams to help drive fundraising next year!

SpecialEffect is a wonderful charity, run by incredible people, whose work improves the quality of people’s lives in a very special way using video games. If you don’t know much about them, we really encourage you to watch some of their videos, including their newest one which tells Adeilade’s story.
