Hello Producers and Posh Slugs. 

Today we are putting a lot of trust in you because we are granting you the power to fundamentally shape the future of RKG. 

TODAY we are asking you to vote for what you would like to be the new Shield Up theme music. 

Have a listen to Episode 110 of Shield Up or check out this folder with the tracks in then vote for your favourite below. 

Do not take this responsibility lightly.

No need to rush, voting will close at 11:59PM GMT on Tuesday March 9th 2021.

I feel Retro is the best fit for ShieldUp by some margin. Both track 2 and 4 would work great as a theme for the often teased Krupa cooking show.

Lucid Light sounds the most like what I'd expect an advice podcast's theme tune to be. I like Big, it's got serious funk. Maybe for an After Hours special?

I love Golden Crates, it’s got such a funky sound with a lot going on. They are all very good though. I like Big but I feel it might be a little too slow, more like love making music

In 2034, in the wake of the RKG wars, historians and combatants alike see the selection of the new theme for Shield Up being the Spark that literally set the world on fire. No really, 44% of the earth was on fire from 2023 until the autumn of 2024. Sides where chosen and friendships were dissolved over the simple urge to spruce up the best podcast on the internet.

Strapped sounds like the theme for the (every) JRPG beach/resort village.

Big and Golden are Lo-fi tunes that absolutely fit the super chill podcast vibe and would match well with Gavs lovely intro, could sound a bit like some NPR. But, Retro Night Ride is a banger so hearing that all the time won't make me upset

I was all for Lucid Lights but then kept saw the results, honestly and had to make myself listen to every one again and totally changed my mine another 2 times haha. Voted for Retro now. The song as a whole is perfect, whereas Lucid Lights I good and similar to the current song in the middle.

Lucid Lights - an old person's ringtone. Maybe good for Gav but not for the younger lads. Get it out. Golden Crates - Absolutely perfect - if you're making a time lapse of your latest pastel drawing. You don't go from some guy wiping snot on his socks to this tune. Minging. Retro Night Ride - In a sci-fi remake of Rocky, this is the tune they stick on the robot protagonist's training montage. Banger. Big - Maybe it's called Big because picking this over Retro Night Ride would be a big mistake? It's a good tune, but clearly inferior to ROBOT MONTAGE. Strapt - this is what your accountant has on in the background when he's trying to figure out what the hell you lads have been doing with the money. You're not accountants. Get it out. It's a clear victory for #3 - Retro Night Ride. Thank me later.

Retro night ride is great but it's way more appropriate for a Retry credits scene. Golden crates is best for non cheesy chat. #5 is cool in a tiki lounge kind of way. #1 is hopeful, so that would be my #2 after crates.

Lucid Light reminds me of being a kid, with a small AM radio, searching for something mellow to fall asleep to. I love it, but they're all worthy contenders for the RKG brand.

I turned "moment in the sunset" into my ring tone, so when I get spam calls at least I can enjoy the ringer. Gonna miss it but I would have to go with...lucid light. My lovely Fiancé prefers Retro.
