This week Mr. Rory Powers stands before you ready to defend his recent comments about Cowboy Bebop. We've received emails, comments and even mean tweets about what he said so we're finally putting the matter to rest: by watching Episode 1 of Cowboy Bebop.

Please keep sending Gav your anime suggestions to: bit.ly/ShieldUp

See you space cowboys ...

OMG I CAN'T WAIT 🤣🤣

Adam Flensborg

I thought this was a reupload cause it starts exactly like the “backlash episode”.. 😅

Brammel the Mammal

Man, I can't wait to listen to this after work. Very hyped!

Matt Stones

Anyone seen the news release that Netflix is releasing a Dark Souls anime???

Lou

Gav speaking the truth about Mando S3 XD

Lou

Whaaat?

Calum Skorka

I enjoyed Cowboy Bebop, but I think it is a bit overhyped from all the years of it being considered top tier anime. I much preferred Samurai Champloo from the same creator.

Graham Johns

Confirmed: Rory has terrible taste in anime.

Ronan

Generally speaking the English dub of Bebop is considered one of the better if not the best English dub of an anime, especially for its time. So I don't think you can go wrong with either option in this case.

Simon McEntyre

Gav watching quality TV shows and movies on your f'ing phone is a travesty.

Brammel the Mammal

Cowboy BeBop: Vindication Blues Fair play to Rory tho for being a good sport

Raees Hosen

Watch Monster, it’s a really incredible series and in a similar genre of anime to Bebop and Vinland.

Drew Worth

Not trying to shade Rory, but given that he seems to lean more toward the shonen-y like anime like Naruto, this was not gonna be his cup of tea. Props to him for giving it a second shot, but we can’t expect everyone to like everything we do. Keep us updated on your Bebop journey Gav! IMO it has one of the best endings in TV in general. (Also I watched it in the English dub and I don’t think I could ever do the sub now, definitely recommend the dub)

GeekInTheNorth

Now they need to do an episode addressing complaints about Gav's comments on Star Wars 🤣

Fleet of Feet

Fair play to Rory for being a good sport, the latter half of the show is where it gets more emotional, first couple would be good in a gym but some might not be. Can't wait till you watch the episode: Ballad of Fallen Angels

Savin

It’s important to stick to your guns, Rory with his dislike of Cowboy Bebop and Gav watching it in the gym. Nothing but respect.

Xantron

I for one stand with Rory on Bebop 😔

Zack Glenn

calling Steven Blum and Beau Billingslea's voices "generic american male" is wild

tophicodemus

Putting in another plug for Wolf’s Rain. Just one season and the same composer as Cowboy Bebop’s music.

Dennis Dimambro Jr

Anime Recommendation - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

Kelsey Maitland

Dude says the story in Cowboy Bebop is bad, but, then says Naruto has a good story. Yikes. Naruto has so much trash filler it's barely cohesive.

Jason

Really feels like we need a Harry Potter/Star Wars crossover so Gav can lose his mind. As for anime my personal recommendations would be Trigun, Gundam 8th MS Team, and Neon Gensis Evangalion all good single series shows - Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex is also really good.

Simon McEntyre

Some classics there! I recommend Macross Plus (4 part mini series rather than the movie version). Based on you preferences you'll probably like it quite a bit.

Chase

Tamoor said Rory has shit taste in anime. He’s proven right.
