This week Krupa and Gav inadvertently take over the whole podcast to discuss one of their favourite ever films.

We mention it at the top but there are spoilers galore for Interstellar and pretty much all of Christopher Nolan's big films. Also, Third Rock From the Sun.

If you want to send in your question for the annual Shield Up 100 Question Special, you've got until 23:59 (GMT) on November 24th to get your questions into this form: bit.ly/100Questions2023

Stay safe and keep your shield up!

Gosh that music opening the show is so good

I could listen to you guys talk about Interstellar all day, it really is one of the greatest films of all time. Even if I can’t stand Nolan’s audio mixing…

I tried watching a lecture on quantum mechanics once. It took perhaps three minutes before my mind was wandering. I tried to grasp it, but I was not successful. At all.

This is my favorite Nolan film. Smarter people than I have pointed out he's playing fast and loose with the science, but as a layman I don't give a fuck. It's an enchanting film dripping with atmosphere and the score (which can't help but bring up memories of 2001's intro with the reliance on church organ) is absolutely perfect. Fun fact: 2001's intro piece (Strauss' 1896 composition "Thus Spoke Zarathustra") was temp music. An entire original score was written after the fact, emulating this piece - which was then trashed because Kubrick fell in love with the temp music. The composer didn't find this out till the premier. He was not happy.

Interstellar is the only movie I will (and have multiple times) argue with strangers about. Never understood how people don't like it

Raees Hosen

God damn the ending was pure goosebumps

Matt Folding

Just watched this for the first time yesterday because I wanted to see it before listening to the podcast, don't know why I didn't watch it sooner!

Seeing interstellar in IMAX was a true come to Jesus moment. I think alot of the hate for it comes from not seeing it in that fully immersive theatre experience, completely changed my opinion on it.
