IMO, since freckles aren't really noticeable in the original source material, I think having them faint/subtle is the way to go.

I was thinking the same, that freckles are like a detail you notice when you zoom in or in close ups, ty!!

A slider in the material would be cool to make them pop when necessary. I have known some people with freckles that the freckles themselves seem to expand when they get worked up or flustered

That's a good idea, a slider so the freckles are visible from a distance would be really helpful, ty!:)
