I never wanna hear the word "mummy" again. This video I will be reacting to the episodes "The Long Game", "Fathers Day", "The Empty Child", and "The Doctor Dances".

Remember when we said that DW has just sentences that make us run for our lives. The ,,Are you my mummy?" is one of the prime examples of that.

ShadowDust

I’m freaked out lol! I was literally just wondering when you’d post this today like a minute ago and here it is. Can’t wait to watch these lol

LikeCat

One advice for future reaction. Treat any information the show gives you as new information (don't worry about if it was in ClassicWho or not), because a - If it wasn't it will get explained later in the episode and b - if it was it is most likely just a neat Easter Egg for older fans. Also just go with the flow most of the time you aren't supposed to understand most sci-fi stuff, most of it will get elabarated on later if its important to the story in some shape or form.

Jack gives me such Zapp Brannigan vibes; he even has the ''champaggen.'' Oh, wow, I forgot Richard Wilson was in this one. I loved him as Gaius in Merlin.

Lune

YES!!!! Waking up to see a new DW post from you means today will be GREAT!!!

LikeCat

Quick question: Since next reaction will be the Series 1 finale (episode 12 and 13), I want to ask will you be reacting to the Christmas special? (It is basically an episode 0 of the following Series and it is a canonical adventure not ,,just a holiday special")

Thaniel Grey

The person you thought looked like the love child of Michael Sheen and Jack Frost is actually Simon Pegg. Since you didn't recognise him, I assume you haven't seen the Cornetto Trilogy! If you ever fancy some British comedy/mild horror films, they're brilliant, and always draw in lots of views for reactors on YouTube. "Shaun of the Dead", "Hot Fuzz" and "The World's End". They can be watched in any order, but that is the release order. I can't promise any angels or demons, or DT or MS, though! Haha

Liam Gradwell

That’s a good accurate description. I’ve always thought of Captain Jack as the stereotype of an American male hero in Sci Fi /Action shows and films and has to be kept reminded that this isn’t his show by The Doctor. Probably to try to gain a broader audience from over seas. I still like him though. 🤣

LikeCat

A fair emotional warning: ,,Father's Day" is just the tip of the iceberg.

Serinthia Kelberry

Just remember, above all else... "Don't drop the banana!"

Verdigree

So what the Doctor is pretending to be in The Long Game is nothing to do with sci-fi, it's something called a "Secret Shopper/Mystery Shopper" which is a thing companies do by having someone pose as a customer to test employees customer service, regulatory compliance, and job performance, and it's how companies do research on their competitors, like corportate espionage but boring. Also if you've ever heard of Undercover Boss, you get the idea

Thaniel Grey

Awh mate, I'm sorry. When British people watching this heard "there was a man there," we all knew what he meant. The kiddies were very often not sent to good families. I really think that's one of the darkest lines in all of Doctor Who.

LikeCat

He has a very fun personality, especially later on. I totally forgot that THAT was his first scene tho. (I knew it happened in this episode I just forgot that it was his introdaction scene)

NatMcK7

I'm so glad you're enjoying this show! Loved your reaction. Looking forward to next Saturday

LikeCat

That ,,back off lover-boy" hurt me personally. You don't know Captain Jack Harkness as we do (obviously), but still it was undiserving towards him. Not to mention he is one of my favorite characters, period.

Verdigree

It is the actual very first phone call, but they just got the phrasing slightly wrong

Animegirl

The audio isn't syncing up. Reminds me of the old godzilla movies, lol.

Serinthia Kelberry

They should have the holiday specials in the correct order.

Luke

yay! you've now met jack! a bisexual icon, and i know he comes off a bit brash in his first episode, but you definitely will love him :D

Verdigree

I think you didn't visually clock it, but at the end of The Empty Child, when it zooms into the gas mask, it is in fact empty, like hollow

Flufux

Som non-spoiler facts about Captain Jack Harkness, while the character is very pansexual (he likes to flirt with men, women and aliens without bias), his actor (John Barrowman) is openly gay, born in Scotland but grew up in the US, and can speak both accents perfectly.

Kat

I am so glad you are enjoying DW. I was waiting for you to get to episodes 9 & 10. Just to see your reaction to Captain Jack. Not only is he a recurring character in the show, but he has his own tv show offshoot in the same universe. He is quite the deep and interesting character. I refuse to give spoilers, so all I will give you is the name of the show. "Torchwood". Can't wait to see your reactions to future episodes. Keep being the awesome person you are. 😁

Joey Quixote

I love that, even though it's not Tennant portraying him, you are clearly taking a liking to The Doctor. He is such a complex character. A lovable goofball in the best of times, but stern and terrifying when the time calls for it. Seeing the hurt he's felt, the horrors he's witnessed, and despite it all, he's warmer than most humans. Truly captivating! I cannot wait for you to learn more! We've been waiting on this one for... sinister reasons. When this show gets creepy, it gets creepy. I'm sure nobody on the Discord is going to attempt to jump scare you with children in gas masks. Ever.

ShadowDust

Could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure Morgan is watching these like this so they can react to the Christmas special on Christmas/ release on Christmas. They said in one of the other videos that they were timing it so they could watch something specifically at a certain time

labyrinthpeaches

I remember I didn't watch the Empty Child double episodes for years because I was so terrified, it's only in the past couple of years I could rewatch it :D I think it became known as one of the creepiest episodes

Queen of Fandom trash

I watched these two episodes when I was a kid and still to this day freak out when I hear are you my mummy 😂

Dinker

There was a tidbit Morgan didn't pick up on in one of the exchanges with Rose. It's not a big thing, just world building, but this comment helped me decide how specifically I wanted to address it. So thanks for that.

LikeCat

Jack teleporting out of the situation, just... I know why you looked at him like that, but it is so tragic after knowing what he gone through.

Verdigree

The guess of the origin of "Rock-a-bye-baby" you found is just one of many, it first appeared in print in 1765 but no one knows if it's about anything at all, people have been twisting the lyrics into knots for centuries trying to give this song significance and a hidden meaning

I Create Myself

I soooo agree with every one of your comments about creepy kid sing-songy voice gas mask Mummy shit - I used to know someone who had "are you my mummy" as their ringtone for a while and OMG I hated it!! Oh, and since you've enjoyed so many things with Angels and Demons, I'd like to suggest Lucifer (6 seasons on Netflix). I'm saying it just because it seems like something you'd enjoy, not trying to say you should react to it. I'm sure it's nice to have some shows you just watch for fun. :)

Tintros

Really enjoying this series. :) Glad you decided to start at the beginning of New Who.

Willow 404

I don't know if it's already on your schedule but I hope you react to the "Born Again" minisode that takes place between the series 1 finale and the first christmas special. it's not a required watch, it's basically just a fun little extra scene that takes place between the episodes i already mentioned

Sergio Bolden

According to reddit the word mummy was said 21 times in total of those two episodes.

Luke Teasdale

gotta love jack, (even if his actor is a bit of a controversial figure), an openly Pansexual Character in a family show... in 2005. Disney could never.

Willow 404

unashamed to admit that I'm quite fond of the poly ship between Doctor/Rose/Jack

LikeCat

And Jack flirting with anyone and everyone he comes across. (Or tries to at least.🤣)

SauceyRed

The screen said "Five" when the Doctor got the credits because it's *Satellite* Five. It said "Five" on the computer Adam used as well.

Carabas

I really like Father's Day. But you can forget anything said in that episode about how time travel works and what the rules are, because that's not how time travel has ever worked before, or will ever again in this show. Like you said, the Doctor and his companions are constantly saving people's lives all over time and space, changing history all the time.

T0m4002

Have they ever broken time as badly as they did here?

Carabas

I don't see how they did anything in this episode that most Who episodes would even take notice of.

T0m4002

23:45 it’s Simon Peg… but his best friend IS called Nick Frost if that counts

T0m4002

mummy was said 40 times in the empty child and 48 times in the doctor dances... at least at a brief keyword search on the transcript

Thea

I have seen this season SO many times. I NEVER noticed the bad wolf on the poster in father's day. Wow.

Zefram Mann

"...until one damp little island finally says 'no'." *sighs in American and Soviet*

Phoenix_mercury

Entirely aware this is late af but... His surname is harkness for a reason 🤣

Bumblybeesknees

Being in the jar for two really got me ,😂

Faroth

"for one time, just this once, everyone lives" This episode was the 1st of steven moffat as writter and co director That phrase was a promise
