IT GOT SO FUCKING DEPRESSING IN THIS ONE! They did us all so dirty 😭

In this video I'm reacting to the episodes"Human Nature" and "The Family of Blood"

Son of Mine was played by Harry Lloyd... a.k.a. the later voice of Viktor from Arcane. After learning this fact I just love him (and these episodes) even more.

Oh this is a very difficult one to watch Morgan. It’s great and well written, but so tragic. I think I remember this being one of the few episodes that made me cry when I was young. The sequence of John Smith’s life he could’ve had and having a normal life with a family, something The Doctor couldn’t even think of having. It makes me at least happy that David Tennant himself got a loving family in John’s honour because he more than deserves one. 😢💜

Elisa H.

I will be shocked to hell if Morgan doesn't cry

Liam Gradwell

Woah really? Wow I didn’t know. He certainly has got range.

17:07, This was the first confirmation we were given that Paul McGann was the official 8th Doctor and that the TV Movie from 1996 was canon.

I like you because you are a very empathic person. It's good to see your reaction. 전 당신이 감정적으로 공감능력이 매우 뛰어난 사람이라 좋아요 당신의 리액션을 보는것이 좋습니다.

I always get teary eyed at the ending part with the memorial service, it was beautifully done.

- "Why are they teaching boys how to use guns in school?" - Would it surprise you to know they never stopped? It's voluntary but half my school chose to join the Combined Cadet Force (I think you have something similar called the ROTC) as their mandatory after-school club. Crates full of assault rifles and machine guns stored in a bunker on-site. Kids in uniform holding parade on the school playground. Every year at some big inspection, helicopters carrying generals who used to go to the school as kids would land on the rugby fields. You can see modern CCF members in the background of the memorial service at the end of the second episode. - The actor who plays the headmaster plays a stark raving lunatic in the TV series Preacher, so it's amusing seeing him so subdued here. - Behind the scenes images of the "wedding" leaked during filming and caused something of a flutter.

fun fact of the day!!! 41:47 John Smith mentioned his parents to be "Sydney and Verity" after Sydney Newman and Verity Lambert. Sydney was a supporting writer on Classic Who and was the one to come up with the idea of the TARDIS and Verity was the show's very first producer back in the 1960s!

Willow 404

Also, a really fun parallel that I don't think I've ever seen anyone catch onto: Born Again Minisode Rose: Can you change back? Doctor: Do you want me to? Rose: Yeah. Doctor: Oh.... Rose: ...can you? Doctor: No. Family of Blood Joan: Could you change back? Doctor: Yes. Joan: Will you? Doctor: No.

The ,,Fury of a Time-Lord" speech is so bone-chillingly beautiful. You can really hear ,,Viktor" (or more specifically Viktor's mannerisms/ his ,,Glorious Evolution" phase) in scenes like this.

Flufux

Another fun fact about him: he's the real life descendant of Charles Dickens himself.

Wolfie Hart

Tim is played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster, who voiced Ferb from Phineas and Ferb. Imagine the Doctor meeting those two, now there's a hell of a crossover!

NatMcK7

The racist comments pissed me off too. I do feel bad for the matron but she didn't have to talk to Martha like that. I get that she was jealous though. Martha is so badass in this episode, I'm so proud of her. Of course John Smith couldn't leave us without making us cry first Baines/Son of Mine's actor did such a good job being creepy as fuck

NatMcK7

Also, hey at least you know you won't be crying in the next one

LikeCat

Oh yrah. Someone said that under the Series 1 episode about him (I believe it was ,,The unquiet dead"), and I googled it and learnt about the Viktor thing.

jeremiah

love your DW reaction morgan and remember Don't Blink. you'll understand hopefully

Luke

fun fact that i don't think has been mentioned yet - this story was originally written in 1995 as a book starring the seventh doctor and his companion bernice summerfield, as part of the virgin new adventures book series, which was started in 1991 in order to continue the story of the classic series after its cancellation. i haven't personally read the book, i've only just started on the virgin new adventures books (there is way too much doctor who content for me to have consumed it all lol) but it is apparently viewed as one of the best stories in the series, so it makes sense that they chose to adapt it for tv, and personally i think the duo of ten and martha was a perfect duo to have in this story.

Luke

i'll have to see what i think when i actually get round to reading the book, but i actually think this story makes more sense as a tenth doctor story than a seventh doctor one, since a lot of ten's character is him being the "human" doctor, whereas the seventh doctor is more of a manipulative puzzle-master type, and so the idea of the doctor becoming human and falling in love with a human woman just feels a lot more suited to ten than seven (and i don't mean this as an attack on seven, he's one of my favourite doctors!)

ShadowDust

I dunno man. Next episode still gives me trauma. Idk about anyone else, but I’m gonna be crying in fear lmao

Joey Quixote

"The Family of Blood" was my introduction to Doctor Who. I'd accidentally flipped to the channel as the episode was ending. So my first glimpse of The Doctor was understanding just how terrifying he is. Speaking of terrifying. Next reaction. 👼good luck👼

labyrinthpeaches

These episodes reallt are devastating, but so well written and acted! You're definitely right to be scared for Don't Blink, that was terrifying the first time, and still gets me now!

ShadowDust

Oh boy, your reaction to the weeping angels right at the end lol. Very accurate, and you haven’t even seen the episode yet. I have lasting trauma to this day from that episode. Good luck!

ShadowDust

Lmfao and the fact that Morgan said he had a punchable face is hilarious

I think one of my uncles or aunties is like that🤔. I don't have any proof of it, but I am suspicious of them. 1:32:00, "But, in fairness, I will give one word of advice. Run😃." 😂😂😂. YES! He tricked them! He's a madman, and I love him for it❤️ 1:34:00. Nope. They'll live on forever. They wanted to become immortal, and the Doctor gave it to them. An infinity to live... doesn't sound like paradise at all. It's more like a prison you built for yourself. 1:42:20 (hopefully last edit), "DON'T BLINK?! OH GOD THAT'S THE NEXT ONE😱🫢! I've heard about "Don't blink." Oh I've heard about Don't Blink! I'm gonna get the f*ck scared outta me next week, aren't I? Oh no. I've heard of the weeping angels before and they're not friendly. They're not friendly for someone tgat gets easily jumpscared." I feel ya Morgan. Yeah, I've watched THAT episode like 3-4 times in my life, and it still scares the sh*t outta me!! Good luck with that one Morgan. You'll need it!

Being immortal is like being on a battlefield... It isn't living forever, it is watching everyone else turn to dust.

Jules Moum

That's a better way of putting it. A little morbid, but still better

Wolfie Hart

Hey, Morgan, here's the full cut of that recorded message where the Doctor instructs Martha on what to do. It's basically a full scene of David Tennant being funny and finding out the Doctor HATES pears. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGG0RSgJT1I

Excellent video, and yeah, Doctor Who can really wring out the emotions sometimes. I like these two episodes, though they're not perfect. But I have been waiting for you to get to the next one :) And yeah.. there MIGHT be a jumpscare or two in there, but you'll be fine. I hear if you turn down the lights in your room when you watch it, it helps ;)

Verdigree

Oh yeah, this story is an adaptation from a Doctor Who book from 1995 starring the Seventh Doctor, it was a fanfic so popular that it got officially published

Verdigree

That’s the funny thing about the Tardis that you saw in Rose’s second episode, if you get a few people, you can just pick it up and carry it

T0m4002

7:00 i wont defend the cybertruck but mostly the change in design comes down to practicality and aerodynamics

T0m4002

10:42 now the funny thing about that is you can do it without killing him... not for a few hours at least

Elisa H.

ever since an episode where you said you can't handle sad david tennant i have been waiting to see how you react to this 2 parter

T0m4002

1:07:09 well I’m pretty sure it’d been written by this point

These two episodes are some of the ones I avoid the most out of doctor who because of how painful they are to watch. I hate seeing what the doctor has to go through, poor Martha being mistreated and forgotten, and the nurse being left behind and also being so disappointed in the doctor. Everything in this episode is so sad and the only good thing to come out of it is that them being there saved tim in the future. Excited to watch your next reaction. But ill wait and watch it during the day when it won't cause nightmares.

Thea

yeah, these are the 'man, I feel so bad for Martha' episodes
