I assume the title was just an error but it confused me so much when I first pulled it open lol. Looking forward to this one!

Oh yeah, they added electric guitar

NOT MISREADING QUEER ICON, THE PRINCESS OF POP, KYLIE MINOGUE AS KYLE, 😂 LOL. She’s been a gay icon since the 80s, so it’s no surprise Russel wanted her to guest star, the songs of her I know best are “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” and “The Loco-Motion”

Omg poor Morgan, thinking that nothing bad would happen. Honestly this episode is devastating so I’m worried about Morgan at the end of this.

Liam Gradwell

In Muppets voice: Titanic in Space. Russell T Davies’s specialty. 😅💜

Though to be fair, I don’t think I would recognize Lady Gaga or Madonna if I just randomly saw them out of context

As I already remember watching this when it came out I'm pretty sure season 4 gave me PTSD have fun

Voyage of the Damned - This is my favourite Christmas special. I love the setpieces, the music, that awesome duel or words between the Doctor and Max Capricorn, the subversion of killing characters who would typically be "safe" in this kind of story. It goes the extra mile - it didn't need the Astrid teleport scene or the cyborg subplot to be a complete story but the writers managed to add them in anyway instead of resting on their laurels. We even get shades of the Timelord Victorious and the War Doctor. - The storyline is actually taken from a classic film called The Poseidon Adventure, where a group of survivors make their way through a damaged cruise ship. You might have seen previous retellings in TV shows from Pokémon to Family Guy. - "Kyle?" - Kylie Minogue (Astrid) is a world-famous pop star. - IRL a billionaire really did try to build the Titanic 2 and have it sail its original route. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanic_II - The CGI Titanic spaceship still looks impressive today. - The Doctor identifies himself as Passenger 57. That's the title of a classic Wesley Snipes action movie. - "I wonder if the Tardis knows he's lonely and is trying to get him a companion." - That's perceptive of you. The Tardis is a sentient psychic machine who you negotiate your destination with. It's a high-dimensional lifeform that experiences all the moments of its lifespan simultaneously - it sees no distinction between past and future. - The newspaper seller is played by Bernard Cribbins, a beloved old-timey comedy singer. - The clocks show 11:50 when the meteors strike, the same time the real Titanic hit the iceberg. - "And they're all at war with the continent of America?" "No, well, not yet." - How prescient :(

You missed a minisode called 'Time Crash' that takes place between season 3 and this episode. However, you can watch it in your next Doctor Who reaction just fine. Here's one version of it I found on Youtube: https://youtu.be/4I76p1cZbq4 While it isn't terribly important to the overall story, it is really fun and definitely worth watching.

Apparently in real life during the filming of this episode, David Tennant's mother was really ill and he took time to be with her till her passing. I wouldn't be surprised if he was channeling his actual grief he was feeling in his performance here. Especially at the part with Astrid at the end.

This episode taught me what fancy dress meant. Fancy dress = costume party.

Ah David's ,,I'm the Doctor speech"... Every actor has one, in modern who at least (in one way or another). It is (mainly) in this speech that we get a REAL feel of what makes said actor ,,The Doctor", what new spin they bring to the character.

This episode is a great example of, well, something to do with The Doctor not being able to save everyone and sometimes it's the shitty people who survive but yeah, this episode is so sad and I hate that the fatphobic motherfucker was one of the last to survive. Also, YOU'VE MET DONNA'S GRANDPA!!!! I know you've already watched the first two episodes of season 4 so maybe you've figured it out, but that was Donna's grandad they met on Earth!!

Great video. I hadn't thought about this episode in years til you said it was up next. Now I remember thinking Astrid was going to be the new companion, and then being sad when she wasn't. It wasn't the only time something like that happened, unfortunately. Doctor Who can really wring the emotions, they're really good at doing more with less.

Morgan I hope you don't forget about Mr. Copper... And the astronomical money he has.

HMS Titanic, 2nd of the Olympic class ocean liners sank on her maiden voyage on April 14, 1912. Three classes were provided for transport, first (the rich) second (well off) third (poor people). Her main mission was to transport people across the Atlantic. She hit the iceberg from the side, which snapped the rivets and started flooding. The captain did not immediately close off the water tight compartments, which could have saved the ship and the 2,208 people who die, most of whom were in third class due to their cabins being close to bottom of the ship. Around 750 survivors were picked up by RMS Carpathia.
