What could be more wholesome than hanging with your besties and smacking potatoes over the head with a hammer.

Oscar Rich

Wilf, donas grandpa, is possibly the most beloved non-doctor character in the entire show.

There is a behind the scenes factoid about this two-parter, that instead of explaining it I'm gonna link an interview snippet that they did after the episodes aired - I really wanna hear your thought about it.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aBqPScmFtc (Which also show that David and Cathrine ARE the Doctor and Donna irl and they really just embody their characters) Read this after you watched it: So yeah when Donna smached that Sontaran she REALLY did not know there was someone IN the suit.

Planet of the Ood: 41:20. Morgan... are you okay🥺? Do you want a hug? I'm sending you air hugs🫂🫂 44:10, "You idiot! They're born with their brain in their hands! Don't you see, that makes them peaceful!! They've got to be, because a creature like that would have to trust anyone that it meets! Oh nice one. Thank you." Donna makes a DAMN GOOD point here!!! She is a true friend of the Ood! 59:15. Now the Ood are free, to live their lives however they want. But yes, why did Sigma Ood say that cryptic "You're song must end soon" or whatever? What does it mean? I mean, I Know, but I won't spoil🤭 The Sontaran Stratagem: 1:01:50. Here we go. We're going back to Earth. 1:06:20, "Who was it that gave him the- I can't remember." Martha. It was MARTHA!!! She gave him a phone so that she could reach him, should there be a need for it! Apparently, they need the Doctor back on Earth! 1:08:11. Yeah, Martha found a new man. Tom Milligan. The guy who met her at the coast of England and helped her get to London in last seasons finale. 1:55:00. Well then, the Sontarians are using 400 million cars as weapons... wonderful😒. Also, yeah, why didn't Donna, Doctor or Donna's mom, find something sharp and break the car window?! The Poison Sky: 1:55:25. YES! Donna's mom found an axe, to smash in the window! Well done👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 1:57:40, "Yeah, you know what?.. wait a minute! Isn't she from Good Omens? She's like, "Avoid the I95, because as experts say, it's on fire" or something, or somethin- isn't that the same lady? Anyways" 🤣🤣🤣. Every time... every time you spot someone from GO, I get a laugh from it🤣😂 2:22:22, "Are you my mummy?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣! That was brilliant placement of humor🤣👏🏼🤣👏🏼🤣👏🏼🤣👏🏼🤣 2:30:10, "If I see one more gun." Point taken, Doctor😳😅😅😂😂 2:33:58, "Now we're in trouble!" Oh yeah. Pissed off the Sontarians😬. But also... Morgan... your face🤣🤣🤣 2:37:00, "Soltar, HA!" Woah😳. That spoiled child loser, actually did something honorable. Applause to that👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 2:40:00 (hopefully last edit). Did the Tardis just straight up kidnapp Martha!? And for what reason?! Guess we'll see in the next episode. Can't wait to see you react to that Morgan! It's an exciting one🤩

Shame this wasn't uploaded yesterday, David Tennant's birthday is on the 18th April (my partner has the same day)

The sontarans are from the Classic series, that's why they look like that. And the Sense Sphere planet the Doctor mentions is also from a really old episode.

Verdigree

Oh, that word is strategem, as in "strategy"

Can’t wait to see the special appearance next episode!

Fun fact: the actor playing General Staal actually hurt his fingers doing that Sontaran salute over and over. Oh, and if you think the Sontarans look goofy in this episode you should see how they looked in the old series. Oh, and I don't think you caught it, but Martha's fiance was the same guy she met in the bad timeline where the Master took over the earth in last season's finale. Though since that timeline was reverted, he didn't die, and eventually Martha must have met him offscreen all over again once everything was reversed.

Wiif is literally the best fictional grandpa to ever exist I love him so much These episodes were very good, I don't have a lot to say about them except I love the worldbuilding the Ood episode gave us.

Butterfly Warrior

Funny fact: David saying “Are you my mummy” was actually him forgetting his line. So I guess they found it a funny callback and kept it in.

Come on, in their first appearance they looked pretty good and they still do. It’s those bloody masks in ‘The Two Doctors’ that looked shit.

The other one would be someone that the Doctor mentioned this episode... The Brigadier... Who (since the Doctor never actually resigned from working at U.N.I.T.) out-ranks him, he mainly worked with the 3th Doctor (when he was stranded on Earth... For reasons), but first met the 2nd, and had met (and had a few adventures) with the 4th, 5th and 7th Doctors as well.

2:40:20 Honest mistake, but something to keep in mind the TARDIS is a SHE not an IT

The Ood are such wonderful creatures. They didn't deserve that kind of treatment.

I get emotional too every time Wilf turns up, he's so wholesome!

Chloe Small

It's been such a long time since I've watched this, I can't believe I forgot how good Series 4 was.

Awzrael

In the next episode David is gonna meet his wife just fyi :D

Why spoil it?

Planet of the Ood - This season has 3 mystery hooks that you've seen: planets being "gone", the bees disappearing, and Rose cameos. - The Doctor isn't wrong on the slavery comments. So many industries are built on large numbers of impoverished people who have so little they can be exploited for anything. The US Constitution provides a specific exception for who can be enslaved and the country uses that gap to its fullest. The Sontaran Stratagem/Poison Sky - "You never resigned" - to save budget, there was a season of Doctor Who in the 70s where the Doctor was trapped on Earth after the Timelords froze his Tardis. He spent the time going on adventures with UNIT. - Sontarans are another classic Who villain. Not major ones, but distinctive enough to be worth bringing back. - An amoral self-obsessed tech guru with terminal loser energy who has self-driving cars that kill people and wants to move to another planet... sound familiar? - "Times like this I could do with the Brigadier" - the Brigadier was a character from the old Who series who was in charge of UNIT.

1:44:22 that’s the thing with the sontarans… they want to die in war… and saving them is a grave insult… they were literally cloned with the single minded goal to take over the universe or die trying… and they take the die but just as seriously

T0m4002

if your interested in the Grandad’s actor by the way he’s called Bernard Cribbins
