I was waiting for this. Tangled is sometimes very underestimated but animation, music and, specially, story, is one of the best things that came from the house of the mouse. From here the series peaks so much... This will be amazing to see you reacting to all ^^

I felt the same way! Varian was my favorite character in the show. Not just because he was voiced by Jeremy Jordan. But because of how goofy, cute, smart, and how determined he was to make his dad proud. This episode break me when it first aired on Disney. And then for Varien to turn into the villain this season was gut wrenching! The poor kid just wanted to be heard, and then realized that he has to literally become a villain to make it happen was horrible! Don’t worry it gets better, please be patient. It’ll take awhile but I swear it’ll get better

I remember my jaw dropping and my eyes being blurred with tears the first time I watched this episode. Varian is just a smol bean and seeing him resort to this tore my heart. So yeah, welcome to the club! I can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of the series! 💜

That look of realization during the final seconds of the episode...I am so sorry Morgan. Also: Welcome to the Tangled we all fell in love with. I was literally thinking about your Owl House-reactions a while ago and that punching bag you had there...and how you probably will need it for this show as well. The storytelling in this episode specifically is magnificent. It goes from 0 to 1000 so fast and Rapunzel is faced with impossible choices of life and death while knowing she can't help or save everyone. As queen, this is very much her future reality too but as herself it is so hard to accept because leaving Varian, a friend, behind to fend for himself goes against her very nature... It was a horrible situation of really bad circumstances and what happened with Varian's father was such a tragic accident. He can't be blamed for being so angry and desperate because to him, it now feels like everyone he cared about is gone or has betrayed him. And he may not be a child, but he is still so young and this is such a traumatic experience and to deal with the pain, he now focuses on his anger. Looking forward to the rest of season 1.

I absolutely loved this reaction. I was so concerned for your mental wellbeing while you watched this. But yes, this show is absolutely crazy and traumatizing. Also, my daughter absolutely loved varian when she watched this when she was like 7-8 yrs old. She dressed up as him for Halloween as well. It's an intense show though.

This is one of my top favorite episodes of the series! I love Varian's two songs in the episode! I listen to them a lot, but I feel like his second song hits me harder particularly from "And I swear right now..." through the end. That is where it gets really intense and you hear drums kick in too to make it more emotional. I can't wait for your next reactions! There are more really good episodes in store for you. (Varian and Cassandra are my favorite characters too, so this episode really got to me and still gets me emotional.)
