2026-09-19 16:00 Before starting: The way my jaw dropped, down to the floor, when I saw that you had reacted to this😲🤩!!! HURRAY🥳!!! LET'S DO THIS!! 4:05, "Am I okay?" Idk, maybe you should sleep before continuing this. Even if you don't, I find it a little bit funny😂, ngl 13:00, "YO! I JUST GOT THIS! *tattooed Huntrix and heart* "Sick😈" Mira, Morgan, and Me agree on this. Hell yeah😈🤘🏼 24:23, "That's me on my day off. Couch, couch, couch, couch. Or bed, bed, bed, Ao3, Ao3. 🤣🤣🤣, that's such a mood" 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Same here with the bed. After a long hard day's work, I just want to rest 29:03. That face right there = Me! I was so shocked, when I first saw those patterns😧😲 30:25, "Oh! The throat thing is coming back." Yup Morgan. You were kind of right when you pointed it out earlier👍🏼 41:13 *Mira Barks, the doc whimpering* "Yeah that's right!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I love Mira. She's so cool, and a little bit freaky, but mostly cool. 42:20, "Nothing could've prepared me for her.. eyes turning into abs🤣🤣🤣🤣!" Honestly, same here. But the next emoji her eyes turn into, is even more hilarious🤣🤣🤣🤣 46:30, "I think I've heard this song on TikTok actually?" I wouldn't be surprised if that's true. The songs I've heard the most from this movie, is "How it's Done" and "Free" over on Instagram. Both of which are in my top 5 favorites from this movie 1:27:24, 🎶You say, you're no good but you're good for me🎶 Aww, I love that lyric💖 1:38:20, 🎶Called a problem child, cause I got too wild, but, now that's how I'm getting paid🎶 I just love that line. Not because I relate 100% to it, but it's hitting close to home 1:50:40. That's so true, what you're saying right there! This movie has an excellent portrayal of insecurities and dark thoughts. I used to have those kind of thoughts that would just focus on all my flaws, not my talents/skills. For years, I was terrified of putting myself out there, and owning my personality, flaws and all. Now, I'm proud of showing my flaws and weaknesses. I'm not ashamed of them. It takes a lot of mental strength to block out those negative voices. It might feel impossible, but it is possible. 1:52:15, "Except me? You told me to cover up! To Hide!" This part, I can relate to. Discovering that I'm Bi, it terrified me! I was scared, not of what my friends would think, but my parents! Idk how they would respond to me being queer. Idk if they would accept me for who I am! Now, they're pretty chill about it. But when I first came out to them, they were shocked, and quiet. My biggest fear, was to be disowned and kicked out🥺💔 by them. Again, now, they're pretty chill about it. My dad doesn't joke so much about that, luckily😏😅. And my mom, her only concern is for my safety. But she knows, I can handle myself. I know a red flag when I see one! 1:57:50, "Soda Pop was so much better" but you gotta admit, this makes for a great villain song 1:59:55 🎶I broke into a million pieces and I can't go back. But now I'm seeing all the beauty in the broken glass. The scars are part of me. Darkness and Harmony. My voice without the lies, This Is What It Sounds Like. Why did I cover up the colors stuck inside my head? I should've let the jagged edges meet the light instead. Show me what's underneath. I'll find your harmony. The song we couldn't write, This Is What It Sounds Like🎶 Aaaaaaaa!! I get goosebumps every time I get to this part! 2:01:00, 🎶So we were cowards. So we were liars. So we're not heroes. We're still survivors. The dreamers, the fighters, no lying, I'm tired. But dive in the fire and I'll be right here by your side🎶 and them hugging each other and Mira and Zoey's outfits turns from black to white. Ah, peak cinema🤌🏼💋💯 2:02:57 "YES😃!!" 3 seconds later "Wait No😧! NoO!! THAT WAS A BAD THING🫢😧!! THIS IS NOT A GOOD THING!! Did He Just Sacrifice Himself?!" Totally understandable reaction to all that Morgan🫂 2:07:15. There's a theory out there that the um "Huntrix Comeback" poster, is a hint that there's more to come. I really hope that that's the case, cause I'm craving more of this world😝! 2:10:43, "I'm sad that Jinu didn't get to end up with Rumi." And that's understandable. But did you notice when he gave Rumi his soul, it materialized into her sword, making it bigger. I got a strong feeling that Jinu might be able to come back from that. If I'm wrong, then I'll be upset🥺. If I'm right, I'll be Ecstatic🤩 Last edit: I'm gonna re-watch this right away, cause (obviously) I had a lot of fun watching this. But I'm gonna say, goodbye for now Morgan. I'll see you in your next reaction video. Peace✌🏼😊

I didn't get a notification for this, but I just came home and wanted something to watch, but I was caught up on everything I was interested in on all reaction channels I watch, then I see Elijah's reaction to this movie on the Patreon sidebar thing, and I was like "Oh yeah, maybe I could watch Morgan's reaction to that", convinced that you had already reacted to it. Then I got here, didn't see the post, searched for it, then saw the post and it said "An hour ago". I was so confused lmao TLDR: Insane timing

temp89

That line of "Why couldn't you love all of me?" resonated big time as a queer person (and as a mental health sufferer). The selective interest and praise, the careful omission of the subject, acting like they did a good job just because they didn't hurl slurs and kick you out - it makes a parent's love feel so conditional.

SauceyRed

The trip-ups Morgan had at the start are a common occurrence for me lmao

ximechata

your idol may be dark lyrically but it is a BANGER

David Johnson

It's essentially a K-Drama...and there's a romance...*someone's* going to die. It's like being a parent in a Disney film.

PinkPonytail _Girl

Now haveing watched it, if you have gone back and listen to the soundtrack, do you have a favorite or one on repeat? My personal favorite is this is 'what it sounds like' and then I LOVE Free it's sooo damn cute and wholesome, not to mention the lyrics are sooo good (although that's not to say I hate it don't enjoy he other songs I just have the most enjoyment with those two)

Elias Cristerna

Glad you checked this out. And now I'm just reminded of a funny fan comic of these girls I saw. It was basically a "What If" Rumi had told the other two earlier that she was half demon, but it was hilarious because she worded the entire thing like it was a coming-out speech. And when she finally said it to them, it cuts back to the other two who were now stunlocked after getting stuff ready off screen that revealed they had thought she was coming out as trans. They had all these trans colored banners and party hats and cake and Mira had a shirt that said "Fuck TERFS" because to them that seemed like the most likely explanation to her behavior than being half demon.

temp89

The voice actors you'll probably recognise are: - Daniel Dae Kim (the voice doctor) who's voiced Avatar TLA and She-Ra - Ken Jeong (Bobby the manager) who's done The Hangover, Dr Ken, Community. Like Kim he has a really distinctive face you'd probably recognise. - Lee Byung-hun (Gwi-ma) who plays someone called "Front Man" in Squid Games that you've mentioned watching. Aside from that it's a very Korean heavy cast so not much overlap with Western shows. The songs are patterned after a genuine KPop band called "Twice", with Takedown written by them.

Tintros

-Take all the notes you want, I do the same sometimes with books or games. :) -Got a kick out of you following right along with the boy band thing, lol -Yeah, it was the same when I was a kid, it's been like that through New Kids on the Block, NSync, 98 Degrees, etc etc up through the ones you mentioned. -"I'm emotional whiplash!" Welcome to most of the stuff you watch! :) You've brought so much emotional turmoil into my viewing with your reacts! That's a good thing but still! I blame you! :P -"Don't let this F me in the A" *Morgan Freeman voice* It would of course, F them in the A. -"Until we could fix you" gives me very 'Have you tried NOT being a mutant' vibes. Same reasons. -Crying isnt a problem. Especially for somebody whose emotions pay their rent. Nobody here thinks crying makes you anything, certainly not a whiny little bitch, which sounds like something this wasn't your first time saying. Our society has some fucked up practices, and emotions being a weakness is in that bundle... -Broken glass, scars, jagged edges. Great imagery. -"Yes! wait..NO!" :) Yup. -Bobby is just a lil' guy, and he isn't gonna get enough love. Also it's a much nicer character than the actor usually gets to play, probably because it's animated and his demeanor has defaulted to mean/biting for so long. -Names from a different cultural context are harder, too, no worries. -It feels like this movie came out of nowhere and hit like a freight train, becoming popular and EVERYWHERE so so fast. I hope that lasts and we get a sequal and/or a series.

Catradora fan

Let's go! 😆 The world needs movies like this right now!

FuzzBird

Oh hell yeah! Favourite movie of the year! (That's not part of a series, Demon Slayer is out soon 😄❤️) When you started to ship them and asked the movie not to fuck it up for you I was like "Oooh dear 😭💔" Demon tiger and tiny hat bird are the best boys ❤️

Katz Kreationz

Lmao Soda Pop was also insidious in its lyrics if you give em an in depth lookover, it was just a lot happier sounding 🤣 vibe wise? sorry folks I'll be at the Your Idol performance with the sick ass fire effects that totally arent a demon king

mistmistly

Omg queuing this up in my list of things to watch while I work tomorrow. 🔥🔥 Hehehe.

Reverie Mephisto

11:50 "That was a lot to take in." You could even say....it was hard to swallow. *ba-dum chish!* As far as I can tell, they didn't achieve the Golden Honmoon because it was mixed colors instead of only gold, which definitely could be a plot point for a sequel. Tiger and Bird not getting banished to the demon realm makes me question what they even are, if not demons.

NatMcK7

Thank you for reacting to this movie, it was such a wonderful surprise! I loved the reaction and I'm glad you enjoyed the movie!!!

LikeCat

I think that Tiger and Bird not getting banished means that if Jinu would not have sacrificed himself he too could have stayed in the human realm. I really want Jinu to be ,,alive" somehow. *Clears trought" As a wise man (footofaferret) usually says ,,IM LIVING IN DENIAL BABY!"

Joey Quixote

So happy you're reacted to this! Honestly, this movie was a surprise for a lot of us. Never did I expect to love this movie as much as I do, nor did I expect to love the soundtrack this much. After numerous rewatches, the "Takedown" scene hits so hard. We the audience know what's going on. But if you consider it from Rumi's perspective, it's... horrible. A lifetime of covering up, of hiding her patterns, of being told that her closest friends would not understand. She's probably had nightmares about this exact moment. Anxiety induced panic attacks caused by close calls in her everyday life. And going into that moment, she'd been on the outs with Mira and Zoey. Actually had a little spat with them. She returns after seeing Jinu and suddenly they're on board with her plan. So of course she believed in the moment that her friends turned on her. She'd seen it thousands of times before. I love that you picked up immediately that a dis track would be no good. And I simply love that they thought "Golden", a song about being "the best of us", would secure the Honmoon. Instead, "What It Sounds Like", an anthem about being flawed and embracing it, is what unites the people.

Jules Moum

You'll find me as well on the "Your Idol" concert. What can I say? The fire makes it seem more "high stakes"🤩

Luke

wow first doctor who and now kpop you've somehow managed to hit both my special interests with your reactions :) love that

labyrinthpeaches

I was hoping we'd get a reaction to this and I'm so glad you loved it! The emotions caught me by surprise too, but it's such a beautiful story! 🥰

Luke

oh and this is also such a queer-coded movie! there's a kpop idol called bain from the group justb who recently came out as gay (making him one of very few openly queer idols, and the only one to have come out while active in a group) and he talked on a live about how he cried while watching the movie because he related to rumi and her struggle with having to keep part of herself a secret to everyone around her :( https://x.com/uknowmuse/status/1938615605608751266

talia pointing

It's interesting because I like I don't know what the summer is called but I like the BO. Are also more than soapop, because it plays on like sad tom's having a like a happy or more blisting, like tune and beat even though the lyrics are dark, I like the like the contrasting themes of that song

MM

it is what *good* k-pop sounds like! a lot of the biggest k-pop writers (including the woman who voiced rumi) and producers worked on the music to make sure it was genuine/authentic. if you love campy, earnest art and spectacle, come join us on the dark side lol

MM

i really respected her taking notes along the way! what a smart way of reacting

Kat

I'm just saying, if Gwi-ma can erase memories, he can alter them too surely ........

MM

oh, also, i’m a big girl group fan but know very little about the boy groups tbh, but the saja boys have me rethinking that lol a few song recommendations if you’re interested (watch the music videos specifically, don’t just listen because visuals and dance are a huge component of the genre): ive — ‘i am’ m/v aespa — ‘whiplash’ mv le sserafim — ‘hot’ official mv newjeans — ‘ditto’ performance video

Kayla Wolf

ah yes Mira, Zoey and the rat from Ratatouille, Remy.

Scott Ellis

I love all of "This is What it Sounds Like." But the part I love the most is that the outfits that Mira and Zoey transform into have patterns on them too.

Rex Saltus

I do find it funny that you don't seem to be a fan of Your Idol because it quite literally has become the biggest K-Pop song of all time, surpassing BTS the biggest idol boy band in the world XD

SunnytheSixx

real ones cry at Kpop Demon Hunters fr

Teste teste

only had money to buy this reaction and still got some taxes over it (brazilian here) 😭 but i like your reactions

Phoenix_mercury

I was hoping for free to be the song for the honmoon, still love the best of us🤷

Tintros

If you're talking about the 'crying' line.. it *is* "their", there.

WeirdAhCity

The k in kpop stands for Korean, this had many Koran producers work on this plus inspiration from stray kids business n such. Idk about if they put Asian Chinese n Japanese into this but Korean for sure

Faen_Galan

Looks like I’m not the only one surfing between all the reactions on patreon

Faen_Galan

One of the things that hurts about the scene when Mira and Zoey find out about Rumi’s patterns and going all the way through to when Rumi talks with Celine is that in the background you can hear Golden being played in the minor key, which is typically used to make a song that’s normally happy and upbeat sound sad and depressing. That’s why that scene hurts so much

Phoenix_mercury

If you're iso another, mortius also has it (not on yt yet)

marauderluverz (Luci)

I was so excited to see you react to this because I knew you'd really connect with this movie and the characters. Also, loved that you took notes to help you remember things. I have seen this movie so many times now (because my kids are obsessed) and I still cry every time when Rumi says "All of me!" To Celine. And when they sing What it sounds like. 😭😭😭 its a beautiful movie with such an interesting story and amazing animation. 💜

Sanmei

The music in KPDH has a bit more English than I usually hear in k-pop, but most of the stuff I listen to is from the 90s and early 00s (SES was my favorite band for a hot minute). The only k-pop tracks I've heard recently were viral songs that had almost a 50/50 split of English and Korean and it really messed with my ears. XD

handmadestudiosus

If you're interested in listening to more kpop definitely check out stray kids and ateez. Specifically God's menu(stray kids) and ice on my teeth(ateez) both songs have amazing music videos!!

LucidDreamWolf88

Yayyyy! I’ve watched Mosco and Elijah’s reaction to this movie and now I get to see your reaction!!! Makes my day sooo much better! Lol

LucidDreamWolf88

Also just noticed you have vi as your Netflix profile pic as do I lol

Dinker

Finally watched this movie, got to see your reaction. Immaculate. I'll only do one time stamp. 1:52:23 The moment in the movie where I go... "Oh it's an allegory about being gay."

Dinker

Necro-reply: In context it's really gross. And if you remove music from its context then what's the point of music?

Faroth

a big message also to people with neurodivergent brains living with non-neurodivergent family who tries to hide them away and make them "act normal" all the time but "dont worry, you can be yourself"... except when you are in public, then be the oposite of yourself... dont embarras the family
