We're off to a great start with MAWSM! I'm looking forward to seeing where this show goes, but so far I'm more invested than I thought I'd be!

BIG PUPPY AND HIS INSANE GIRLFAILUREBOSS YEHHHHH

Carabas

Small correction to your background knowledge of Superman lore: he's really Clark Kent, and Superman is just what he does. And a bunch of She-Ra writers/directors/producers/assorted crew have worked on this show. Josie Campbell is one of the showrunners.

To answer your question about his suit: *Usually* he doesn't get his suit via magical girl transformation, no ;P

Ashley Silver

Fun fact: Lois resembles Luz in this show for two reasons: A lot of TOH alumni worked on this show and Showrunner Josie Campbell's wife is a fan of TOH as well, so Josie had Lois resemble Luz as a gift to her. So, basically this show's Lois Lane is a lesbian love language, and that's fucking adorable.

Well... that's a subject of interpretation, and varies with writer and time period, I'd say. Sometimes, Clark Kent is the disguise, sometimes Superman is the disguise. (I personally am with you though, I much more prefer him to be Clark first and Superman as the disguise. Or better yet, both in balance.)

The basic beats of Superman's origin - "rocketed to Earth when the distant planet exploded" - have been constant over the last nearly a century now, but almost everything else has been rewritten...hundreds of times? Heck, in the 50s and 60s, DC had stories of Superman as a baby (and if the concept of a flying, superpowered two-year old doesn't terrify you). So this is the latest version of his origin. It is unusual in including what's basically Lois's origin - generally she's already a big-time reporter when Clark first meets her. The "Newskid Legion" dates from the 50s, I believe - though as the "News*boy* Legion," of course, because 50s... Traditionally, his mom made his costume - unraveling his Kryptonian baby blankets to get the indestructible fiber for it.

This show had a lot of people from the Owl House working on it, which is part of why Luz and Lois look so similar. The other reason is the showrunner designed her that way as a gift to her wife, who loves Owl House. It's still so cute.

The equipment Leslie Willis aka Livewire, stole some very important and powerful equipment. This show is very smart and adorable. Plus great animation and music. Plus the amazing magical girl transformation superman has.

SPIKELB!

If you enjoy watching the rest of this show, I highly recommend watching the live action tv series about Superman called Smallville. I’d also recommend watching the original cartoon Superman the Animated Series. It actually does a crossover with Batman the Animated Series if you ever watch to branch out into other superheroes. Also, Lois isn’t the only one that looks like an Owl House character, Jimmy actually looks a lot like Gus

HEY SO I'M ONLY WATCHING THIS REACTION NOW AND WDYM I GIVE OFF "climbs random fridges in supermarkets" ENERGY, I'M SORRY?? (you're right)

4:20. Every kid who gets superpowers 5:54, "This character (Lois Lane) reminds me so much of Luz Noceda." YAAASSS!! They picked up on it🤩🥳! Some folks who worked on The Owl House, also works on MAWS!! One of them, made Lois look like Luz, as a gift to their partner😍 32:50. It's also, in a different way, for any kid who learns that they're adopted. They begin to question who they are, and where they came from, and who their parents were. I wasn't adopted, nor any of my friends, but I can almost imagine what it's like. It's a shock, to say the least! 53:10. If you're the "good guys", who needs villains?! Geez. Last time I checked, good guys don't torture people for information! Last edit: I LOVED this reaction, even tho I didn't point out that much. I was just really invested in watching it. Seriously looking forward to seeing more of this😁! See ya next time Morgan. Bye👋🏼

Start of a new react ride :) Glad you seem to be enjoying it.

Smallville... was a thing that happened. At the time they didn't want him to fly, didn't want the suit, and started it out as a 'villain of the week' CW style show. That wasn't great. It got better as the seasons went on.. and on.. but it wasn't fantastic.

Elijah Cole

Would you ever consider reacting to the new movie as well o-o? 👉👈

L Frances

I'm so glad you reacted to this show! It's one of my absolute favorites, and I wish more people pushed through understandable superhero reluctance to react to it.

Jonathan Smith

Correct, the Newskid Legion was originally Newsboy Legion and they all grew up to be scientists in the current continuity.

Jonathan Smith

Depending on the storyline, he either had them from the time he arrived on Earth or he gre into them. This show is following the latter course.
