In this one we get to meet Jester and Fjord! I love Jester so much! Also loving the friendship between Nott and Caleb.

Morgan: We'll see if there's even more attractive women in this Me: oh just you wait

„You're paranoid, good. You'll survive longer" - We. Love. Dairon. They are THE best. Plus she's a badass monk who can put Beau in her place.

Fjord shares the same name as the term for long, narrow sea inlets with steep sides or cliffs in created by former glaciers. Very abundant across Norway

"Populace" is just a fancy way to say "population" kinda. "Populace" does tend to refer to the average lower class too. "Vox populi" is a latin phrase for a political position. It means "voice of the populi or people" and the 2 words share the same latin root

Joey Quixote

You were commenting on Marion's voice and how good it was. That is Anika Noni Rose, who played Tiana in "The Princess and the Frog". Yup. They got a Disney princess to voice a burlesque songstress! "The Ruby of the Sea", which is about Marion, was actually the outro song on an episode of Vox Machina.

I definitely love Caleb’s and Nott’s friendship, even though I never watched the campaigns it was beautiful to watch those two. I did learn a little bit about Nott. The reason why she’s so afraid of the water is because of what happened to her when she was a kid, the bullies in the town when she grew up, and they used to dunk her head in water and try and drown her. Little word of warning you’re gonna need this for next week. Caleb and Nott have a place that are certain phrases and this will tell you what each one of them means. https://criticalrole.fandom.com/wiki/Archive:Caleb_and_Nott_Set_Plays

Jester's accent is Czech, like Viktor Arcane, and was inspired by a friend of Laura's.

Jules Moum

Exactly! When I saw his name I was like, "Does he have like Norwegian origins😃?" Mainly because I'M Norwegian😁😁

Jules Moum

Uhm, it's Nott, not Noot. Also, oh my Gods, I feel bad for Nott😢. Getting bullied, I can relate💔. Almost getting drowned, also relate, but it wasn't bullies. Gee😰

The friendship of Nott and Caleb was one of the things I liked more on the campaign. There is a particular scene with them that I'm dying to see animated... It should be on this season if they don't remove it (we lost some good amazing scenes on Vox Machina that I wanted to see :( ). Also Marion or the Ruby of the Sea, Jester's mom, is one of my favorites from the campaign. I adore her personality and the respect that Matthew Mercer employed with her. Usually courtesants or sex workers are very vilified on media but Mercer knew how to make the point with Marion: She's intelligent, elegant and she's so sweet and such a good mother. I love her.

Given the scene with Nott and Caleb can be heard in the teaser 2 years ago... I am confident it is gonna happen... I need to see it too btw (Alongside Caleb's „lore dump" next episode - 5)

"Fjord" is normally pronounced "F-yord" and is a term for a long, narrow inlet leading out to sea. Here, they just pronounce is "Ford" like the car brand. In fact, there's a running joke about him being built "Fjord tough."

Yoshinatorsaurus

Morgan: "Who's ready to simp over more pretty women?" Me: Oh, you have no idea. 😂 Yep, Marion is really something. As the song from Scanlan says: 🎵The Ruby of the Sea is the best... lay ever🎵 And I just gotta say, I love this depiction of a sex worker who's not only respected, but a genuinely good and loving mother. It's really nice to see.

Yoshinatorsaurus

I hate having to have "that talk" as well. As someone who's mom suffered from Staph-induced dementia towards the end of her life, I really sympathize with Essek and his struggles to cate for and try to save his mom. Turning to Trent for help was probably a bad idea, but I totally understand his desperation. It hurts.

Suplee215

Yea just slight correction to myself, "lower class" is probably the wrong term and more "general masses". Basically dont want all citizens to know as it can cause a riot.

Jules Moum

16:35, "You're paranoid. Good. You'll survive longer." Nice🤣🤣 23:57. According to Jester, The Traveler is a God. And a mischievous one, if you ask me. But others believe he's an imaginary friend of hers. I am curious to see which of those he really is🤔🙂‍↕️ 1:02:10. I believe that thing, whatever that is, it's sorta like the Kraken, but magical. Whatever it has done to Fjord, I bet it's bad😬. And what you saw at the beginning, that wasn't it's eye. It was tentacles! And I'm scared of the fact that it's Huge!! In fact, it's GINORMOUS!!! Last edit: I'm really invested in this show, and I cannot wait to see your next reaction of this! I really feel like, you're going to like the next member of the Mighty Nein you'll meet. His name is Mollymauk, Molly for short😁. He's really interesting in my opinion. Anyway, I hope you're having a wonderful day and I'll see you in your next reaction. Peace✌🏼😁

As someone who watched the campaign, I don't recommend reading these wikis. So many spoilers. And careful to not spoil Morgan, they (and all of you) deserve to learn about the Mighty Nein through the show ❤️

Meghan Ross

I did watch the campaigns and Sam did talk about her backstory. I just didn’t want to give away too much in the comments. I’m trying not to spoil too much and I’m sorry if it looked like I did.

I love your reactions but I never thought I would relate to you as much as I do Elijah or Mosco but after the talk about your mother… TRIGGER WARNING: Aging Family members, Medical Trauma. My father who was a firefighter for 35 years retired back in 2010 and then almost immediately had an accident in which he was nearly paralyzed. And instead of sticking around to help him my mother left us. I took care of him for years before I moved away for college but then shortly after he had a heart attack. A heart attack I’ll mention happened at his brothers funeral after he had had a long battle with cancer. My uncle the only member of my family I had felt safe to come out to as trans. So I ended up moving back home and to this day I live and work from home to take t care to him cause after his brother passed his side of the family sort of fell apart. Anyways I have nights were I can’t sleep cause I am worried I’m gonna wake up to him being gone. But it weirdly brings me some comfort that I am not alone and that it’s not just me that has this fear that I’ve been thinking is irrational for the longest time. So I just wanna say Thank you Morgan, your reactions really help me get through rough nights where anxiety overrides my need for sleep. From a Critter that has been watching Critical Role since Campaign one back when it was on Geek and Sundry I am so happy to have you as part of this fandom.
