Just a quick reminder to yhe early one. When Blake first described Weiss's comapny, she said they are heavily criticized for their exploitive work conditions of labor. And the train Blake attacked in her trailer was a Schnee dust company train.

Ep 15: “It’s a combat skirt.” “Yeah!” *high five* Every time. Every time it gets me. These dorks. You can see Blake’s bow twitch back in episode 8 right before Ruby falls. Ep 16: Just to clarify because due to the animation it is very hard to tell, Penny’s swords come out of a backpack and are also connected to her by strings. So fun fact, each of the Voice Actresses has a certain word or phrase to help them get into character and find the right tone of voice. For Lindsey (Ruby's VA), they would yell Yang's name. For Barb (Yang's VA), she would yell Ruby's name. For Arryn (Blake's VA), she would say "Brothers of the White Fang, why are you aiding this scum?" And, the funniest in my opinion, was Kara (Weiss' VA), who would indignantly say "I'm a victim!" Lindsey also ad libbed the “She does like tuna a lot.”

I think theres a line between just a completely peaceful protest and murder, esoecially of civilians. Sometimes completely peaceful forms don't get anything done. Civil disobedience tends to include something more. Blake had an issue with murdering the train's crew, but not destroying the property or stealing the dust. And thats fair.

Penny is indeed unique, as you'll learn in the next volume. Also, the woman and her minions will also be identified along some new characters to be introduced to. Mind you, Volumes 1 & 2 are the (easy) reactions, so be prepared for more intense and darker storylines later on, Morgan!

You missed the funniest line of the episode. When Penny casually reveals Blake's cat ears, and the tumbleweed blows past, Ruby can be heard saying, "...She does like tuna a lot." ...which was improvised by her VA. Also, when Weiss mentioned a whole train full of dust stolen, that was a direct reference to Blake's trailer.

Baby steps, Weiss will get better as shown here. But she's shown compassion, in her own way. Not many people in her position would be so quick to change their view point, which speaks to her moral compass. Sun, quite the fellow, a bit of a troublemaker, but still charming. Glad to see someone helping out Blake, even if they did insist on it. Penny, a curious girl who packs quite the punch. As others have mentioned, the blades came out of her backpack, not her actual back. A common misconception due to the animation lacking proper shading to show this at the time. An issue that will be remedied in the next Volume thanks to the budget increase. And of boy, you've met the big bad of the volume. She's quite the beauty, and we'll be seeing more of her later on. And Elijah fell head over heels for her, her queer heart erupts whenever she's on screen. Frankly, I don't blame her. But yeah, Volume 1 is done with, a nice introduction to the show. Now on to Volume 2, see you all there.

Overall impression of Volume 1 (from when it first aired): I thought ultimately it fell just slightly short of the hype the trailers gave, but still ended up being a good start to the show. Really liked the main four a lot (including Weiss). I really liked that they included the Faunus in the show; animal trait humanoids are really cool. And this volume still has some fantastic jokes. Looking back at Volume 1 today, my favorite part of Volume 1 is the rewatch (after you've watched the entire show). There's so many moments in this Volume that completely go over your head, but on rewatch kinda blow your mind that they had it in mind from literally the start of the show.

Blake has a lot of backstory coming...not necessarily quickly, but coming. Of course, so does everyone else... I'm not saying RBWY has *perfected* the cliffhanger...but they are very, very good at it. Now you understand why Blake did what she did at the end of the Black trailer.

So in episode 15, Weiss mentions a train of Schnee Dust was stolen, that train is what was happening in Blake's Trailer. Blake is legitimately the reason for the stolen train.
