Just to fully explain velvette her weapon is her camera. She can take a picture of a weapon with it and it converts the weapon pictured into a hard light dust replica, hard light being the same thing used for the various forcefields we see. Its extremely dust heavy hence the "dont waste it" plus relies on the photos. Her semblence is also photographic reflexes basically. She can copy anyone's fighting ability and style so with her weapon she can mimic anyone's fighting style perfectly

Fun fact about Velvet (i’m only saying this because it’s never brought in the series) her weapon is her camera, she take pictures of weapon of other people, and then her semblance if I remember correctly, it’s called mirror move. She can copy the movements of those who she took a picture of their weapons. The only downside is that Velvet can only use the weapon once and then she has to take another picture of the weapon to use it again. If you want to learn more you should check out the light novel “After the Fall!”

Oh boy... It's a good thing it was only one episode. As you saw, they managed to pack so much stuff into this episode, it's almost overwhelming. Ruby's confrontation with Neo/Roman, The situation with Weiss and the rest of the students, the adults down in Vale, Blake's messy break up, and the whole Vault scene. Everything had its ups and downs. The robots have been stopped, but the Grimm are still around, Roman was dealt with, but Neo flew off who knows where. Weiss had a great moment, as did Velvet. But both Blake and Yang got seriously injured, and now Cinder has the powers. All we have left is chapter 12... One more before the volume ends. Last warning, pack those tissues. It'll be the End of the Beginning...

The way that Velvets weapon works is that when she takes a picture of someone’s weapon her camera is able to make a replica from hard light dust. However, these replicas are very fragile and break after a few uses and ones it breaks the pictures she takes of said weapon disappears. Hence why her team told her not to use it back in volume 2 as she’s been stock piling pics of weapons all semester. This is the creators favorite weapon in the series. There’s also more to Velvet but I’m sure someone else will mention it

Speaking of Roman, I can kind of understand his beef with Ruby. Yeah, she's a teenager, and he can take her pretty easily one-on-one, but she keeps showing up with powerful friends and trashing his operations, so of course he'd want to be rid of her once and for all. Also, he wasn't not really about wanting to be on the winning side, so much as he was squarely on the side of "don't fight fights you can't win" (as opposed to the "fight the fights that need fought, no matter the odds" attitude embraced by Ruby and others). Which really makes the irony of his death all the more delicious :-D

Yeah, Velvet's Semblance and weapon combo is pretty fantastic. ^^ As long as the fighting style isn't a result of their Semblance, Velvet can mimic it. And her weapon can make hard-light copies based on the amount of photos of weapons she has taken! Good riddance, Torchwick. And fuck off, Adam. I understand why people caution new fans to watch these last two episodes separately, but in my case back then I had to watch the next one immediately, I needed to find out what happened next lol.

welcome to the RWBY fandom officially, Morgan! this episode specifically is the episode that people get fully into the series! also completely opposite of Morgan is I actually really like all the characters she hates, which is everyone minus the main cast XD and I actually felt bad for Roman in that last scene of his because to me, he sounded kind of defeated, like he was in her place before and just couldn't get it to work out. although I genuinely hope that she does start to lighten up a bit with characters and how she views them. because yes it's funny that she's completely different from every single other reactor, which is unique, but I worry she's going to drop the show because of how much she hates a decent chunk of characters. I know this is how Morgan is, but I really hope she doesn't drop it

Napoleon XIV's 'They're Coming to Take me Away". You're legendary for knowing that song. The Walking Dead introduced me to that song way back when and I became an instant fan of the band. Casey Lee-Williams, the RWBY singer along with her Dad Jeff, is actually the voice of Neo. The few gasps etc. were made by her! She all but begged Monty and then the rest of CRWBY to do so. She even cosplayed Neo on multiple occasions (as did Monty's ex-wife Sheena Duquette (Oum)). And Laura Bailey from Critical Role (Vex in Vox, Jester in Mighty Nein) voiced Amber the Fall Maiden. It was a tiny role, but Laura really enjoyed RWBY and wanted to be a part of it. Her husband Travis Willingham voiced another small role as the Lando Calrissian looking ship captain a few chapters back (Travis played Grog in Vox and Fjord in Mighty Nein). That was about the time Critical Role took off and they never got back to RWBY. Sadly. "I'm Mary Poppins y'all". Isn't that Guardians of the Galaxy 2? Yondu (Michael Rooker)? I don't think I've EVER, after all these years, witnessed a workplace injury with actual physical harm inflicted upon the reacting employee from all these years of watching reactions. This could very well be the very first. Psychologically though? Noperoo. You've joined the club of emotional pain. And Adam haters. While this was a hard chapter to watch, Ruby did save the day in so many ways. You're very astute to realize just how integral Ruby Rose was to this whole Vale experience. Without what she did, this would have been a bloodbath given everyone was spent, injured, or otherwise ready to collapse. Dozens of major characters would have been dead. Weiss Schnee, too, was inspired by her friends to unleash her semblance. Velvet saved the day too (and she not only mimics weapons but also the fighting styles of those that wield them). And Roman died. Snacked on. And he, too, blew up inside the ship that controlled the hoards of robots and mechs. This could have been worse. Despite how perfectly awful Roman Torchwick is, he has a point about Huntsmen and Huntresses. They don't grow old. Heroes sign their death warrant the moment they sign up to be Heroes of the people. Each footstep is a step closer to their possible deaths long before they get old. Is this the end of your trauma? Is there a reason anyone told you to watch this chapter on its own? 150 hours from now, you might know, or the insanity might last for Volumes. As for blaming your patreon audience, I always think this about RWBY fandom. Some folks lose faith in their chosen media. Some linger for years even after losing the spark that brough them to their chosen fandoms in the first place. Some linger in places like Reddit or groups and yet can't leave. Wishful thinking? Hopeful thinking? Nope, that spark remains in them. Ruby's spark. You're in it now, Morgan, whether you like it or not. You chose to watch this far no matter what happens. That's my prediction anyways. The only thing I will say about the following Chapter, Morgan, is that you should watch the full credits of the final Chapter of Volume 3. Beautiful song, beautiful tribute, and like most Volumes of RWBY (except Volume 7 and Volume 9) there is a post-credits experience.

Blake has been with Adam and his WF since she was twelve. Let that sink in. For Ironwood, they never go into it in show, but he's not a cyborg. To my understanding he was hurt super bad at some point and half his body was replaced with a lot of prosthetics. Winter believed Weiss could summon. She also encouraged Weiss not to cave to their dad's tactics. She didn't doubt Weiss at all, she just knew Weiss was getting in her own way. Yeah, Velvet’s semblance allows her to copy fighting styles, while her weapon takes the pictures she’s taken of people’s weapons and creates a hard light Dust copy of them. Sadly, each weapon is only one time use so she’d have to take another picture to use it again. Weiss summoned the arm of the knight she fought in her trailer. We’ve seen a lot of action and violence on this show but Roman beating Ruby with his cane is somehow still rough. Fun fact: Roman was only supposed to be around for V1 but people liked him so much they kept him around longer. Unfortunately, now was the time for him to make his exit. Oh Roman, you were entertaining while you lasted. I love the structure of this episode so much. It builds up a possible victory so well. Roman gets eaten, Neo is out of the fight for now, Velvet revealed her semblance and kicked butt, Weiss summoned, Pyrrha’s about to get the Maiden Powers, and even Ironwood gets a badass return. But then everything changes with the release of an arrow. Cinder kills the Fall Maiden, Blake gets stabbed, Yang gets disarmed… suddenly the victory that seemed possible just seconds ago has a brand-new obstacle and is snatched away from our heroes. It’s so good! Ugh I love this episode! Still one of my favorites.

So they don't directly state this but remember all those times Velvet took pictures with her camera? That's how she's able to create those holograms! Her camera is a weapon that lets her copy other people's weapons! Also on a much less fun note, it is confirmed here that Blake and Adam were indeed in a relationship, and Adam was emotionally and physically abusive towards her, which recontextualizes a lot of Blake's actions throughout the series. Like her physically flinching when she thinks Yang is mad at her, poor baby, she deserves all the hugs
