I always have loved this episode and Twilight's letter at the end. When I was really young, my family would get to go to a local amusement park, Canobie Lake Park, once a year because my dad worked at a company that helped sponsor the park. Fast forward like 30 years and I discovered that my best friend and podcast co-host also used to go to those company park days. I like to think that maybe we might have even stood in the same ride queues or in line for the cookout that they would do for us.

One thing i always will believe is that the CMC do understand their talents, they just didnt want to be enclose in those areas and try new things aside from that, thats why on the talent show episode they do different stuff and helped the others on their expertise area. They do know that sweetiebell is a singer, scootaloo a acrobat and applebloom a designer, but they dont care for that, they said it when they meet, they wanna see more options. If they outright said it, their CM will show up for sure, since they accepted that, but they wanna see what else there is. I think they understood what a CM really is better than the mane6 and all the other adults, fans included: the CM isnt your talent. Is your destiny. And they understood that on this episode. For example: Rarity talent is to "find gems". She could become a miner, but she is a fashion designer. Her CM isnt related to her job because rarity refused to be a miner the moment she found the rock, ao instead of finding gems she finds secret beauty on things, which fits her other talent: make clothes. So her destiny is to make stuff pretty, represented in 3 gems Lets see Twilight: her CM and dwstiny is magic. But we most likely see Twilight talent to be organized and memorize stuff and knowing how to organize others. Her true talent isnt magic, is being organized and ahe uses that for magic too and thats how she is becoming so powerfull since it helps her to study better and more efficiently. So her destiny is being a powerful magic user, and she uses her talent of being organized to achieve that Rainbowdash? She works as a weather controller, but hee CM is about going as fast as she can, she is a speedster, thats hee destiny, go fast and do stuff fast. See? The CM basically already understood the asigment better than people gave them credit for, tehy unserstood that a CM is always 3 things together: what you are good at what you wanna do what is usefull socially I could explain more but is spoiler

We saw Twilight’s parents in this one. We saw Pinkie Pie’s family. Before the series is over we’ll see all their parents (if only in flashbacks) and discover that only one of the Mane Six is an only child.
