I have released two chapters of A Roll of the Die, a new High Fantasy series. I wrote about 1500 pages by hand during my break. (Yes, I have 15 notebooks filled with this story which I am transcribing slowly).

This story is not in the AWLL universe, and no knowledge of anything in AWLL, GM, or CTL is necessary. It is exclusively for Platinum patrons (and Collaborators) for at least a year.

Just finished reading day 1. It's a really nice introduction to the story. I like how you introduced the protagonists Matthew and Miriam, although, I think they accepted what was happening a little too easily. Most people would have been pretty frightened/apprehensive/freaked out lol. One suggestion I have is to consider including a preface or brief introduction to the world of Nystria and the basic rules of Dungeons and Dragons. As someone who is not deeply familiar with D&D games, a little background information would be helpful. Introducing the key elements, such as the rules of the game (if relevant), common phrases, or the nature of the game world itself, could enhance the reading experience. It would allow readers who are less familiar with the D&D universe to understand the context and appreciate the nuances of the game elements integrated into the narrative. Of course, if you plan to weave this information into the story as it progresses, that could work as well, but a hint of what’s to come in the form of an introduction could set the stage nicely. Overall, I’m excited to see where the story goes and how the characters navigate this new world. The first chapter has already set up a gripping premise, and I look forward to learning more about Nystria and the adventures that await. A great job from my favourite author!

Thanks. An intro does make sense, but it will have to be limited, as part of the story is discovery. I'll come up with something that explains a few key elements. As for adapting 'too easily', I'll give that some thought.

I don't think it needs too much, just something to help us non D&D folks visualise the scene.

Sorry, but did not finish reading the first chapter. It's just not my thing. I would rather see two chapters for CTL at a time, which you been doing for a while then a new story. Just prefer stories that reflect life, not fantasy and those three that are currently running are outstanding. Thank you for keeping me entertained.

Transcribing this did not impact writing CTL. I was on a roll, which is why there were extra chapters for a time. That's not the norm.
