The second episode is now available.  In case you're wondering why I re-uploaded the first episode, it was because the first one had an encoding issue and it was bothering me like crazy. Also now there is a black end slate so I can link up the episodes with  clickable cards. :)

I work on a 640x480 timeline, and draw everything with no aliasing. There are a bunch of tricks used to make sure the animation doesn't interpolate frames in a way that would result in blurred pixels. If you like I can go into more detail on that. Otherwise, I send the final export to After Effects first, then upscale to 4K (nearest neighbor upscale to preserve pixels), then just render with regular H264 at 20mbs.

The reason for the 4K is so that Youtube won't auto upscale, because the video player would do that and introduce blurred pixels. It will almost always be downscaled and the pixels will remain sharp. In the future I suppose, if someone is playing back on an 8K monitor it may upscale it but I don't think the blurring will be very noticeable.

Are you planning on doing one episode per month or did ep 1 & 2 just coincidentally get released exactly one month apart?

Hey Adam, I have a goal to have one done a month, but it's not official. Sometimes it may take longer or shorter depending on what's going on in the episode.
