One thing I’ve never liked about the Kiriko and Juno models is the head area; with Juno, removing the helmet makes her look weird, and with Kiriko... I just don't like her hair. So, I had an idea. I don't know how to use Blender to speed up rendering and less how to animate, but I learn how to export objects. So, I took both models, extracted the parts I wanted, and... well, first I have to say something:
Why on earth does Blender make things more complicated than they need to be? I spent a whole hour trying to figure out how to make hair from other skins appear... a whole hour.
Secondly, the downside of this method is that what I extract is just an object file, meaning it lacks a rig (bones). That’s why I can't simply move characters from Blender into my own software; it is possible, but it involves a more complex process I don't know yet, so I’m basically waiting for someone who knows how to do it to come along and share the model.
Anyway, I put a lot of work into the textures (Kiriko's hair doesn't look great, it looks like woodso I'll probably change it later) and adjusted the hair to fit the models' heads. I also made some extra tweaks to the "S-body" versions of the models, so I might do a second render but just of Kiriko and Juno this time to showcase all this work. For now, though, I wanted to do something simple after spending a whole day on the import/export process... something I could avoid if I actually learned Blender, but that would mean starting the "anime training arc" where I disappear for 2 years. ( ._. )
You can see the full renders in The Archive, either on Mega or GDrive, as you prefer, in the Overwatch > Multiple folder.
