karyl

Hello! i just joined your patreon a few weeks ago so i kinda marathoned your older seventeen uploads 😂 and i'm happy i can rewatch seventeen project with you 💗 it's always awesome to relive this while seeing reactions from people who are going through it for the first time, especially from people like you who geniunely loves seventeen and really wants to know them more 😊 Please always take care of yourselves 💗

wonusom_

OMG THE WAY I SQUEAL WHEN THE NOTIFS POP UP! I've been waiting for this~ You guys should prepare tissues as you watch this lmao. Welcome as you finally deep dive into SVT's humble beginnings. 🥰

fangrrlgreys

omayghad! i haven't rewatched this for some time already. i think i last rewatched this was when i started fully stanning them (mid-covid era) since i was able to watch it during their debut year and then a few years after as well, when i started really liking them because of Getting Closer. BABIES!!! OMG!

Normal SJA

Hi I am so glad you guys started 17 project~!! so for going seventeen, you can take recommendation or you can also check the guide in the link below. long time ago they were fanmade guide for going seventeen.. but weverse officially published the updated guide so you can check and see which adventure you wanna tap first. Going seventeen, unlike usual idols content were well established with GOINGVERSE (Going Universe) where a deep inside joke was weaved within every show.. But since you already watched ITS 1&2, Nana Tour and now 17 project (one fine day 1-2 also contain tons of inside jokes reference) i think you are there enough to just watch going seventeen by theme and not episode sequences. Have fun!! https://magazine.weverse.io/article/view/977?lang=en&artist=SEVENTEEN

Sara May

It’s always wild going back to teenage SEVENTEEN! They are all successful, talented, humble and kind-hearted men now 🥺

Hibz

just wondering if you guys have a poll or schedule somewhere? i'm not sure what to expect on Tuesdays for svt

Nite Angel13

I have been putting off watching this because I don't think I'd handle the emotions very well on my own. Watching it along with you will make it feel like I'm experiencing it with close friends. 🩵🩷🫶🏻

nica

I literally squealed out loud when I saw the notification because I was really waiting to rewatch this with you two! It's a rollercoaster ride indeed (and prep tissues if you must!), but when I watched this as a baby carat before, it really heightened my feelings of pride and even more love for them when I saw them in this show fighting for their dream and finally reached it, and then knowing where they are now.. yeah. That feeling. Really excited to rewatch it with your comments too, bec I like how you guys talk about things and thoughts while and after the episode. Excited about you guys exploring GoSe after this too! Enjoy the journey!

ema - simplywoozis

so happy to finally re-watch 17 Project with with you! this is one of my favorite project to introduce someone to seventeen, they worked so hard before this and during the filming. seeing them here and where they are now, such a growth. they were already nicknamed "monster rookies" w/o even debuting, you know they were always going to succeed. the ring ceremony, the talk about their important people, everything was fate. I do share your sentiments about how they handle this situation, yet at that time that's how the industry worked and changed for the better today. I guess them being left with nothing but their trust and faith in each is what built up the SVT we have today. as for CEO Han Sungsoo (HSS) is a nice guy tho. like, pledis fandoms might not like him that much but he used to listen to us back in the day. he's still close with the members and adores them a lot. can't wait for the next episode!!

Normal SJA

Sorry for another comment ^^ I also have an emotional roller coaster when I watched this in 2015 back then ㅜㅜ Just some insight, after seventeen won MAMA last year, the PD who work on this shows reveals that when Pledis and MBC make a deal for the reality show, PD asked what type of show pledis wanna do. Back in the era where trainee survival show is so popular to boost up engagement and build fandom, PD suggested to make survival show. but Pledis said no. It is because their number could easily to make 6-members boygroup-to-debut survival show, Pledis has no intention to eliminate any members from the lineup. Reason is this 13 boys were the only trainee left in the almost-bankrupt-company at the time. So PD ask pledis, then what would motivate them, make the show fun and invokes emotion if its not a survival (drama) show? The CEO said, one thing he noticed that after pledis gave them the ring, they were so happy and it become so precious to them that they wore it everywhere and anywhere. Thus PD got the idea and create the 17 project based on the ring.. the rest was history.. just sharing especially for the baby carats out there! and have fun on this roller coaster journey ride into the diamond life~!

Bongbongieatwork

I love how their pinky fingers are permanently disfigured from wearing that ring for 10 years straight. They don't even take it off for photoshoots or musicals or tv dramas, they prefer to tape over it and cover with makeup over taking it off. Like subconsciously they are still afraid someone's gonna take it from them. As for the ceo, he is fine, kind of incompetent but essentially harmless as ceos go. He isn't their ceo anymore but still shows up to their concerts to watch them and you guys saw him too, in nana tour. He was the dude wearing pajama shorts, drinking coke at 4am who had no idea they were getting kidnapped. He hugged DK and Minghao told him to book him another schedule later because CEO was worried Hao was upset, Hoshi was whining to him that why did he buy them drinks the night before if he knew they were getting kidnapped today😂😂

cowboy

oh my goodness i'm so glad you're watching this, SUCH an important series for svt and carats alike - super excited to watch along with you!! will probably comment again afterwards ❤️

Aurora Mia

YAAAAASSS THE 17 PROJECTS! i feel like you guys need to hold on for a while to the going seventeen world, not only they are a lot but the svt lore are so deep that i feel like you guys need to be done with the older shows first before you guys can jump into any going seventeen. in my opinion. so, i think it'd be best for you guys to go to the seventeen one fine day (+ the japan one) and then after all that you can decide how you guys decide to jump into going seventeen. i just feel like it'd be pity to skip these OG shows. they are soooo good and i feel like you'd like these.

melis

OMG i didn’t expect you to watch this haha yea this is gonna cause an emotional rollercoaster and after this you’re gonna understand so much stuff about the boys and how now they’re like we know them hihi i’m so excited to watch it again with you and experience it again the fact they don’t know anything anymore about this time period tells you how traumatic everything was.. also svt was the first and the example for everyone now to have an hour long debut

jasmine

They aren't skipping the old shows don't worry, they're just watching some going seventeen episodes between each show, so they'll still get to all the earlier shows and I'm sure carat will fill them in on any references they dont understand or lore they miss, just like we did for in the soop 🥰

Aurora Mia

yess. but i just feel like it's much better if they know understand in advance about the jokess and lores so they can understand and laugh along in real time without waiting for us to explain. but that's my opinion. i'll watch anything they upload, anyway. lol 😆

Seiji

oh my... this came out of nowhere but i'm seated

konekochan

They are so babie in this !! 😭😭 watching this and then seeing them now makes me so proud. You've come so far, seventeen 🥹 I'm so so excited for GoSe too! It's so fun regardless of which episode or what order it's watched in. I'm sure you'll enjoy it 😊 take your time too and watch on your own pace <33

Inah

OMG! I was just thinking of watching this again!

Seiji

I've been a carat for 9 years now and I've only watched this full series once. There are so many scenes that just makes me so mad and cry at the same time.

autumnrainxi

Seventeen Project will always be a bit hard to watch. Even if you know how well they made it now. But this show really showcases Seventeen’s dedication to creating a great performance and you can tell they took a lot of the lessons in the show seriously and worked on it over the years. Also want to show appreciation for Vice president of Pledis, Bumzu (Main Producer alongside Woozi) & Hyelim (Performance Director of Seventeen) who will show up next episode. They have been with the boys since trainee days. FYI, Hyelim also showed up in Nana Tour episode 1 since she is also in charge of concert performances.

11am09

Maybe they will keep it for october for Halloween?

Sami

Third time watching 17 Project but I still cried my eyes out 😭 Here is the playlist for Gose 2017-now with English subs for the earlier episodes: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlPEnFOHdW53iPYEK3UGzl8PKrQHt2khR I still prefer to see you guys react to Going Seventeen in sequence though. You can exclude the 'behind the scenes' phase of early Going Seventeen: 2017: can skip 2018: you can watch GOSE Spin-off Ep 1, 8, 9, 21, 22, 23 (themed ones with 21-23 are the first TTT eps) 2019: GOSE 2019 Ep 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14 -> now But I respect it if you choose to jump in some recommended episodes. I'm sure it would still be so much fun. Love you guys 🥰🥰

lia.

oh man, this is going to be a journey i have hard feelings about seventeen's reality shows like 17project and hit the road exactly because of things bri said. Also is so hard to watch. Its such a vulnerable moment for them, and they were so young 😭 dino was barely 16 poor kid i watched 17project right after becoming a carat and had decided never again 🤣 but I'm here again, and will be watching with you because besides the hard feelings, there are also good memories from it. soooo, let's keep ourselves strong to go through this, and fighting!!!! thanks for the video as always, and hope you guys are enjoying the 17 diamond life!!! ♡♡ ps.: can we talk abou poor minghao and jun 😭 they couldn't even read korean well enough, but they were doing great! so proud of them

botchie

Yeah the show is a very harsh watch as are any other survival/debut show but what i try to remember is how far they’ve made it as a team today. You guys will not agree with a lot of things in this show but i hope you can enjoy all of the beauty that came from it. 💙

shirin

Aren't they precious? Seeing these boys here and knowing what we know of them now, it's so heartwarming that they're essentially still the same, just polished by life and their time in the industry. As for the harshness of taking away the rings and tearing them down, I agree with what you said that it was too much. Rationally, I understand that the producers needed to add drama to the show itself. Unlike other debut reality shows where the drama and narrative revolves around who makes it into the debut team, for Seventeen, the team is already set and no one is getting eliminated. I assume they (PDs) needed to add drama somehow for the show itself to be broadcasted by MBC. I just wish they thought of something else or that the drama weren't necessary in the first place.

MS

yay omg you finally started this im so happy! but yeah this one's a tough one to watch, not as easy as their other stuff. but honestly it shows you how well they've grown up, and how thru it all not once did their bond waver. also yes i completely support your plans for starting going svt! there are many episodes that are stand-alone enough for you to watch without worrying about context or inside jokes.

Purple Spirit

I avoided this show for the longest time 😭 and I agree with you at the end, there are other ways instead of instilling fear — because from I’ve seen from them they still have that fear and anxiety which kinda sucks…

13plus3plus1

Ahhhhhh I'm so happy. I've been waiting for you to do this 😭 so Thank You. 🫶 And damnit, I cried. Again. Lol. I understand completely what you mean. We love them so much and hate seeing the way they're being spoken to. It just makes me that much more proud of them today.

jeonghan’s noona

i'm so excited!!! i'm so ready to rewatch this!!! i'm so happy!!!

Faery

I watched this just 2 years ago for the 1st time, and it remains one of my favorite looks into the process. They are just children, but they are so passionate and determined and hopeful. I'm excited to rewatch with you both!

o_0

It's so cool to be able to track seventeen's growth from their debut until now. Even though the show is harsh at times and quite emotional at others, knowing how much success they find in the future eases some of the anxiety of watching. For going seventeen, I think it's best to watch in order as much as possible (at least from the point where it started to become a variety show around 2019). The members and the editors (especially) make a lot of references to previous episodes and previous jokes even when the overarching concepts differ. Even though the show is still funny without knowing them, things will make a lot more sense and will be exponentially funnier when you see the progression of their comedy in real time. The exceptions for me would be when they're role playing or the content is story-based (eg. SVT's Got Talent, Bad Clue, Wonwoo's Diary, Ego, Grudge, and the comeback specials). Obviously, the ultimate decision is yours, and I don't even know if this is the right place to be saying all this when you mentioned asking for more details later in the 17 project series. Sorry for the wordy comment, and I look forward to watching the rest of the series with you!

May

Couldn’t watch this on my own, so left it aside to watch it with you guys 😁

Caratdeul🩵🩷

This was too hard to watch by myself so I’m glad I could watch it with you two

Irie ⋆‧°𓏲ּ𝄢

You guys should keep in mind the BSS comeback special roleplay type of gose episode they did, since you guys checked out the album in full already! It's soooo funny and it's a spin off haha no past gose lore needed to watch that :))))) iirc it's called comeback time #1 and #2!

Lauren S

Oh yeah, it's a rough ride, but I really do think it's required viewing for carats who really want to know the members. I personally think they made the first mission so impossible because they were going to take their rings anyways, and they needed to make it believable. If they had let them practice and prepare, they would've been just like, they're ready to go! lol

JJ_SanDiego

I agree with your commentary, which is why I don't watch these type of survivor/debut shows. Debuting is already a brutal process for any idols, but these survivor-show producers make it even worse by adding unnecessary tortures and dramas. I'll continue to support your channel, but I'll probably tap out and not watch the 17-project with you. It's just not good for my mental health. I'll join you for Going Seventeen 💎💎💎💎💎

kat

i've never finished this show because watching the first episode just made me mad lol, but i'll give it a try again with you <3 hopefully it gets better and less purposeful cruelty

Seraphia999

I'm so excited!!! I've been a carat for over 2 years and I never watched this but I'll finally get around to it now! It's so funny to me how all of your uploads coincide with my current interests haha - I found your Nana Tour reaction when I was thinking of starting it, I will watch the debut project with you guys AND I was thinking of getting into TXT literally likw 2 hours after you uploaded the guide reaction XD safe to say your patreon is like it was made for me lol

Arum Sekar

i hate this project so much just because the way they made the "drama" so much, i get it that they need to feel motivated and the producer need to make the show on the edge so it make a "story" and just like you said, there's another way. but i'll live and watch it with you guys haha btw, i know you got lot on your list, but i hope you put this on you list, its okay if it takes a long time but i think you need to watch this. there's a lot of story from their trainee and you can see shua and mingyu pov, how their mind work. it such a good show and funny too, but not many carat talking about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbvsTj1fnC8

megalesias

yesss I'm excited! for what it's worth, I think the first episode is the heaviest on the reality show/survival/tense nonsense imo - or at least, the way the rest of the show goes, it's pretty obvious they're all going to be okay as things go on. But it is good to watch to understand baby, pre-debut Seventeen, and how they talk about their trainee days even now.

megalesias

anyways, anyone else remember how carats used to boo Han Sungsoo every chance they got? those were fun times

chkanpi

Finally!!! I know you'll reaction seventeen project

Azuans

Can you please start Going Seventeen, i really want to see your reactions.

Margarita

To add a little bit of context to the timing of this show - Seventeen were already recording their first album and finalising the debut concept at this point. So while it absolutely(!) was nerve-wracking and shocking for them at times, they were quite confident that they are going to debut (and will obviously have live stages on TV after that). The biggest worry was actually the timing for their debut, since it was already postponed a few times over a couple of years (probably because of an unsteady financial situation at Pledis). So in fact they were very glad to get a reality show - because they finally got some sponsors and debut was a guarantee at this point. They were doing weekly livestreams around that time and you could see them telling everyone about the show. They were so excited to show it to their family and friends! On a real TV! (it was so cute lol). Debut broadcast was definitely a nice bonus! but maybe because they already had held quite a few performances to a live croud and had a sizeable fanbase, tbh I haven't got a feeling that it was as important for them as this show made it seem. And everything else like that "real artists" speech from CEO was an obvious drama, he was actually a pretty nice guy all things considered.

yasna gonzalez sanchez

I have watch this so many times that I don't care for the drama of what is a 'reality'. I want to tell you (even though, probably you won't see this because.. so many comments 😅) that is the only part that is dramatic and unnecesarily tough for them. From now on it gets better. I do recommend some handkerchiefs or papel tower sjsj because is emotional. AND, the ring thing is worth it. The result is at least proportional to the stress🥹🥺. One of the most beautiful moments (you Will cry). I do think they could have done that scene without taking the rings though!! But you know, at the end of the day ... it was a tv show, a reality tv show 🙄 they needeed the drama (😴)... and, I forgot (edit) Now that I have seen this so many times, it is so clear to me how experiences make you or shape you to be who you are. Because, if you remember Dk mentions that he wanted to take from that experience a member building relationship. Not many people talk about this, but the members have said that not until they received the rings and debut were really friends, family maybe, but that was not in their minds, at least not for all of them. And, for me is clear now that they have grown so well. As you guys mentioned not many people or few people would take this anxiety and stress and learned to deal with it or try to deal with it, but they did it. They manage to trust and take care of each other, support each other. Take roles that surely were not supposed to be taken by them. To be a brother, a hyung, sometimes maybe a fatherlike figure. To learn to respect each others even though, they were just kids and adolescentes or young adults. They did it. All of this experiences shape them to be the wonderlful, gentleman, honest, heartful, careful, protectors, good human beings , having the brotherhood that they have now 🥹. Sorry, I know too long shhaha. I'm so proud of them

Jay Mèlanie

So happy to be here and watch along with you ladies. I have been subscribed for over a month now, and have been enjoying your post so much. I'll admit I have been a Carat almost 2 years now and had no idea this show existed, so again I am glad to be watching with you. With that said like you mentioned and others have commented these kind of survival/drama reality shows I do not like to watch because I do not agree with the methods used to make artist "great", because unfortunately the objective is also to make good TV, so the trauma that is induced is often for good tv ratings and to have you feel sorry for the artist that you root for them and become a fan. Still I did like to read above that the PD did push for the show to not be a survival show, that they were not willing to get rid of anyone, especially since they seemed to already be established, and thus pushed for this concept instead. I could definitely tell the CEO was turning it on for drama sake because the boys response to him was almost like "where is this seriousness coming from", their laughing, and speaking comfortably about the experience would not have been so, if the CEO was the typical tyrant/mean type. Anyway this is too long, but I am looking forward to taking part in this journey with you, even with GoSe, there are still quite a few episodes I have not seen. Also quick to thank you to the poster who posted the Weverse Going Series guide, I am on there and do not remember ever receiving a notification that this existed.

Faery

AMG Patreon Bestie lol. (I see you over on KPCC too =) It's fun to find "friends" in the random pages of Patreon fandoms <3 I thought I heard you might be seeing the show this fall? I have to live with onlines and video concerts, but I'm so looking forward to all the amazing pictures, fancams, vlogs etc that come from this upcoming tour!

Rowan

I do think that Going Seventeen is core to The Seventeen Experience TM, but agree that you don’t have to go through from the beginning! Mixing some older classics (for the laughs and to understand their references) with recent episodes would probably work well!

Victoria Mier

I NEED to know who your bias are
