Half-breeds can be considered bastard sons. they fight for power and some gain their father's favor. ANU has come to like his bastard sons more than his pureblood elder children it this stage. they represent a spark of youth and uncertainty ANU enjoys.

I forget the timescales we're dealing with here. I used historical events at first to chart how old the Royal WYRMS were but a geological timescale would probably be more accurate. VLAD must be a child still in ANU's eyes. ENKI and his kin must be the ones who moved out of dad's house and have awkward family reunions each year.
