Have a berry :)

Been watching a few shows while drawing. Castlevania ended pretty well. I've enjoyed it. Love the growth in the animation especially.

hard contrast to Godzilla Singular Point which is massively disappointing.

Also discovered the old Sean Bean show Sharpe while researching napoleonic uniforms and unexpectedly binged it.

Surprised to hear you don't like Godzilla SP, what are your problems with it?

Second question: how have you seen it already? I'm guessing something like a VPN to watch the Japanese release? Or are you referring to the animation itself being disappointing? Is GSP any better than the three anime films, at least?

excuse me, im gonna rant for a sec. also spoilers I have an extreme negative reaction to ps2 models in my anime. I just cant stand them, I thought they learned their lesson from the failure of a movie trilogy but nope. I could tolerate jet jaguar as a boston dynamics oompa loompa robot but not the other kaiju. The Gabara knockoff, the rodans, and the lame bugs with blue hedora in them all look just awful, I cant get any entertainment from watching this (They bring back Anguirus after how many years and they do him dirty like that? But I guess we gotta focus on the girl dressed like a middle schooler dropping her papers on the floor and the Gintoki ripoff. Eat shit). The story isn't much better; too much babble on pseudoscience and universe ending magical calculations from boring character designs. The only one I don't hate is the crazy old man. I kinda knew since the first images that I wasn't gonna like the godzilla design and I was ultimately right. the foux-titanosaurus and foux-varan did nothing for me just more cheap cg models teasing better monsters from the past (I get it, the anime team really liked shin). And the final godzilla himself looks like his face is bloated by bee stings. The original concept art for the kaiju looks so much better than the final product. Godzilla anime continue to fail hard for me.

-I’ve seen up to episode 9 due to a friend with the hook up. Im glad I don’t pay for nextflix anymore. -The animation is the MOST disappointing aspect for sure but not the only thing. -I guess its better overall than the movie trilogy but the story/setting for the trilogy is far more interesting with the earth evolved past humans for thousands of years. SP is very much mundane world/japan oriented.

Starting to agree with you there. All the stupid pseudo science bs is clogging the show up. It’s ALL THE CHARACTERS TALK ABOUT. Like, at least make it make SOME semblance of sense for god’s sake! I will say, there was a genuine sense of unease and menace in the earlier episodes, and the building mystery had real promise! And then they over-do it with all the future-seeing calculator bull crap and ruin any sense of danger the show had. I do like the new takes on the kaiju, Manda and Jet Jaguar especially, but Godzilla himself just shows up from nowhere and he’s just another monster! And his designs are meh at best, ugly as sin at worst. I do appreciate another new take on the mythos, but the confusing lore and Shin rip-off ain’t it chief.

Fair enough. I do hate the awful 3D animation most Netflix original anime has. It looked terrible in the Godzilla anime movies, it looked horrible in Blame!, and it still doesn't look good in Singular Point. While I will hold my opinions on the human characters until I actually see it, the way Anguirus is taken out so early and badly bothers me a lot. I actually really dig the Anguirus design, though, and I think the adult Rodan and Godzilla have decent designs, too., the animation "style" just doesn't do them any justice. I'm pretty sure the show is/will be a disappointing mess, and I really hope Toho decides to make better licensing decisions in the future because an anime Godzilla has so much potential. Ah well. At least the movies have been consistently good.

....Y'know what? That's entirely fair. At the very least, though, it does deliver quite nicely on giving us weird new shit that's just not possible for suitmation.
