Delayed Works Rant... (Patreon)

Can't believe I have to rant about this. This shouldn't be a thing but it is now. It's driving me insane...

So I'm living in a condominium with my girlfriend (We have been living together like this for years) and the room above me has been dumping down trash (mainly smoked cigarettes) onto my balcony everyday, and a massive amount on top of that. There were at least 4-5 cigarettes thrown down each day. It's absolute nuts.

I can't go up and talk to them freely since the condominium uses the elevator keycards that lock the permission to enter only the floor you're living in.

So I have been contacting the officers of the residence to warn the people living above me and they did, but it didn't work. They're still throwing down trash daily. I keep contacting the officers everyday and reporting everything with photography proofs (even a video clip at a point) but the situation is still going on...

This affects my works and sure increases my stress. I haven't been able to do laundry on my balcony for a week now because of this (you know, shit could happens like fire and shit) and I have to constantly talk to the officers but they seem to not wanting to work things out for me... They're just afraid there would be dramatic issues on their residence. This is just nuts. I had to threaten them that I'd call the police so that they'd go and fine them once, and they're still throwing down more trash after they were fined.... I don't get this. Things are going bananas. I spent the whole couple days dealing with this and they still refused to go farther than just a minor warning...

Sorry for the rant guys. I shouldn't let this stupid issue ruining my days and all, but I have to let you know I'm still doing the Lucy pic but it got delayed big time. I hope things get better and I could just get back to the focus.

Man if that was happening to me I'd be mad. Smokers can be annoying enough as it is, but dropping the butts down to the balcony below? Disgusting. Must leave a horrible smell as well..

Oh man, that sucks... When I move, I always hope to have decent neighbors, because neighbors who lack basic human decency are so annoying to deal with... Hope you find a way to deal with this that doesn't turn into open warfare.

As vanquice said, try using something to cover your balcony from getting trash dropped onto it ? I hope you can find some sort of resolution for this problem !

Collect all the cig butts in a trash bag, try to get a keycard that gains you access to their level and dump all the butts on their doorstep...

Hi Fuya, I’am sorry to hear that you have to deal with such nasty people. Because you can’t directly talk to them my first suggestion would have been to put a letter into their mailbox and ask them to meet and talk about it. But because you already contacted your landlord and they got fined this approach might be even less effective now. So the next best thing you can do is send them an ashtray or something like this together with a letter to ask them to please use this instead of throwing their cigarettes and trash down. If you feel it would help you can include some pictures of the accumulated trash at the end of it. You should be polite but direct about your concerns in that letter hopefully they accept it and stop littering your balcony. If not then they are human dregs. Another option is, as Vanquice and Exodus adwd already suggested, get a roof for your balcony BUT talk about it with your landlord first because at worst you have to take it down again at best he’s willing to pay for it. Also get the required permissions first! Don’t get a glass one tough because if they are human dregs they will take that as an opportunity to try to damage it… I don’t know from what angle they throw their trash onto your balcony but you have to take that into account and get a protection for the side as well. The second last option would be to keep taking proof of the littering and bugging your landlord and public order office to do something about it. Think of safety and security reasons in regards to the building that your landlord might be more concerned about; Fire, damage and such to the building. For the public order office, keep taking proof of the littering, if you want to film the process as proof, ask them first so that you don’t violate any privacy rules and if they would even accept video proof. You already got them fined once if they don’t stop they might stop after getting fined a few more times maybe that will get the message through. And the last option which sucks the most for you sadly would be to move. I know it’s annoying and sounds stupid but if there are some assholes who want to ruin your live for whatever reasons and you tried everything else it’s better to move on than stay and feel bad. I already figured something was up when you went silent all of a sudden but I was hoping it would be just something minor like visiting relatives or technical difficulties. I hope you can resolve this matter quickly in a friendly way so you don’t have to live with a grudge for each other. PS. And there’s nothing wrong about ranting! As long as you do it like you did, in a civil manner. Get that stuff out of your system and maybe get some ideas and thoughts from others.

We don't blame you for your troubles. I'd say take it up to our local city service bureau. I'm sure these things have been suggested and even more are a pain in the ass to take care of since it'll eat away at your free time and I know most people would rather do anything BUT go to their cities' office. I hope for the best for you and your girlfriend's health. I personally do not mind delays, so take care.
