As you might know, Marin Kitagawa considers herself to be a gyaru, a representative of Japanese fashion subculture. Gyaru used to dress in a flashy and I’d even say provocative way. This style is known for such atributes as long artificial nails and eyelashes, fake tan, heavy makeup, mini-skirts, high boots, bleached hair and etc. Years later, this subculture underwent some changes. Modern gyaru don’t look as showy as their counterparts 20-30 years ago. I think that Marin adheres to the “light” version of this subculture, incorporating only a few gyaru attributes to her daily outfits. For example, leopard print, circle lenses, long nails and fake eyelashes.

So, I came up with idea of showing this side of her. Inspired by gyaru looks and y2k teens movies like “Mean girls”, I decided to do a “girly” and sickly-sweet photoshoot. I think that a fluffy leopard lingerie is just perfect for this set! I hope you will enjoy it. 🐆
