Hi guys,

I am looking into the possibility of having Love & Sex animated :D

My only pb is that the Live2D bindings of renpy don't work on Android or IOS so I would have to put those builds on hold until renpy gets updated.

So here is your poll: Android/IOS vs Animations.

Honestly, I'm bias as I would not put this on my phone. Much more fun playing it on a big screen

chrnoaria

Hmm, animation. Finally.

thosefeels

Oh boy this wasn't even close

Alex

I'm genuinely always surprised that people play these types of games on their phones and not on a monitor

Zimmaster7

I've tried mobile, and its not bad. I have a large screened phone, but I just feel like full size monitor it just better

no

does anybody want love and sex to possibly be left on their phone when they go to show grandma that cat video they saw the other day?

Krakatoa64

Sorry mobile users but this is big

Numberwang

Animations all the way, even if it means slowly replacing all the current sex scenes over multiple updates. Was kinda disappointed when you said animations would have to wait till the next game since that was the stretch goal I was looking forward to the most.

Talion

As an exclusively mobile user I will stop supporting if my platform has delayed builds. The majority of the people who voted on this might vote for animation because they don't play on mobile anyway, but it's a deal breaker on supporting for those of us that vote the other way because this is the only way we can play.

Devil Drew

which animations would you start with? animated idles or scenes? i'm all for it either way

Andrealphus Games

I do understand that it would be a deal breaker for some users. But be assured that it would only be a temporary thing.

Devil Drew

Cool cool. Will we get samples soon?

Talion

Damn, not the response I was hoping for. I don't want to continue to support a project that doesn't support the only way I can continue to play the latest build and based on the results of the poll 13% of your supporters might feel the same way. If the question was "do you want animation?" I'd expect the results to be 100 percent yes. I wish you'd hold off on animation builds until all of your patreons could play the builds with them.

Andrealphus Games

Honestly i will totally understand the people who will withdraw their support during the iatus. But remember that once renpy supports it (and they say it will) you'll get all the content you missed at once.

Buttery Biscuit

-.- as usual the pc folks put themselves above all else. As an IOS user it feels like a deal breaker having to run boot camp and separate partitions just to keep up to date on new content.

TheAmazingRando

That sounds like a complaint to make to Apple, not Andrealphus. I didn't have to jump through those hoops with Android.

Buttery Biscuit

You are clearly ignoring the fact that this content was originally made to be operable on the IOS platform and not solely PC or android. If I wanted to support content that was solely run on those platforms with the intent to run emulators or partitions, my complaint would not be applicable. As this does not affect you or the point of your pledge, your opinion is a moot one.

thosefeels

maybe just idk get a pc/mac?

Buttery Biscuit

Hey if you are willing to play sugar daddy and cover the costs and specs of getting me a pc instead of posting a non-constructive comment, I am all ears.

Sync

Here in AUS the iPhone 11 128GB phone retails for around $1200-$1300. I bought a reasonable-quality hybrid PC tablet for half that price. You chose iOS for some reason - whatever that reason, the downsides are that it's hugely overpriced and significantly-less software runs on it.

Buttery Biscuit

I love the mental gymnastics that are being undertaken here to ignore the point I made about the content and its original intent. For a brief moment, I will humor your non-sequitur. One of the many reasons why people buy into the IOS eco-system is for not only its aesthetics but its build stability in handling powerful content creation software, whether it be Logic, Final Cut Pro, Reason, Adobe creative suite, and the like. There also is the fact that you do not have anywhere near the number of issues with drivers needed to be updated to be compatible with said software. Not to mention having to deal with malicious software, worms, and bugs. You are also assuming that everyone who buys an IOS device is paying the sticker price for it, which is also wrong.

John G Busia

If you do animations, will you guys also take the opportunity to update the game's earlier art work?

Borb

Personally I only play on andriod, so I would say wait, or look into another way to do animations. I have seen some renpy games that did have animations in them, on andriod.

Alistairr

I don't comment often on patreon, anyway: Although I am not a mobile user, I see animations improving an already great game as a whole and going forward. But on the other hand, I understand mobile users are backing this project just like anyone else. My thoughts are: animations will eventually support all users, a temporary set-back will make the game better in the long run. I would still say this if the tables were turned and PC users were on a temp hold, because I know eventually all users will benefit from animations.

Anon95

Have they given a timeframe for when that will be? If not, mobile users could be waiting months or longer for new content. Those people will not support the game if that's the case and you will lose a huge chunk of revenue. This seems like a really bad business decision.

Endless.Ocean

I don't think the game necessarily needs animations, but it would be a nice bonus. Personally I don't understand how/why people play these games on mobile platforms, and Mac users should know they're going to have a much smaller library of games available to them.

Geralt of fucking Rivia

1# How that many people can´t understand, why people are playing those games on mobiles? It is much better, you can chill out in the evening in your bed with mobile in your hands, not sitting all the time behind PC screen... I have personally pretty good phone with big screen and it is playable perfectly, I wouldn´t even consider to play it on my PC. Just use brains before asking retarded questions... 2# What does it mean wait a bit? What is a bit? Obviously I´m totally for animations, this is nice improvment for games. And I can wait 2 weeks or whatever, but not months... And what problems devs have with Ren´py? There are hundreds of games with animations made in Ren´py...

Derryn

Seeing as it's already incredibly laggy on my Android devices (admittedly not flagship devices). I kinda doubt I'm going to enjoy the animations anyway. Frankly, either way, if the updates stop, so do I.

Possibly_A_Moron

Question for you (as an android user myself) why is this a deal breaker? I myself would continue to support even if my build was delayed.

Possibly_A_Moron

I'm android and I fully support the animations vote myself.

Possibly_A_Moron

I play on android for convenience, but I personally believe the other android users are being selfish threatening to withdraw support.
