The thing that bothers me about this movie is how casual the mom was when her son hurled himself out of a moving car. He definitely should've had a psych valve. So I read peoples theories on this, some people think they're alive, others think they're dead because of how ethereal the place is after the typhoon . Some people think that Yori died in that bathtub then Minato took his own life because of that. That being said this is a quote from the creator of the movie, "We did not think about them dying. We were simply thinking that they had come out through this process and found out who they were, and it was validated." But it is not up to me to determine how the audience is going to interpret it." I am just going to interpret it as them being alive, I don't want an ending with little kids dying because they don't feel accepted
