Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore- Thank you very much for your fun reaction to this final movie within the Fantastic Beasts Trilogy, Reds! And your lovely daughter! I had fun watching this final movie with you just like I have the rest! I enjoy this movie overall for the most part, although I do feel it's my least favorite among the trilogy, for reasons that I will share with you shortly. But overall... This movie is fun. Our main characters are all great like always! Especially Newt, Jacob, and young Dumbledore played by Jude Law!! All of whom I love within these movies!! Eddie Redmayne is a phenomenal actor, and I absolutely love him as Newt!! Same as I love Jude Law as a young Dumbledore, and Dan Fogler as Jacob is so much fun!! Jacob is just so lovable!! :) It's wonderful seeing Callum Turner as Theseus, William Nadylam as Yusuf Kama, and Victoria Yeates as Bunty back, back as well! I enjoy each of their characters. I especially love the addition of Newt's brother, Theseus! While I absolutely love Queenie, played by actress... Alison Sudol, especially within the first movie... Fantastic Beasts: And Where to Find Them, and I do enjoy her still within the second and third movies, I do feel that her character changes a little too much for my liking within these second and third movies. I still enjoy Queenie, and I certainly understand why her character changes so much because she struggles with wanting to be able to love Jacob freely and becomes caught up with Grindelwald. who is clearly manipulating her, I just miss her bubbly, perky, lovable character we have within Fantastic Beasts: And Where to Find Them. And while I wish Johnny Depp could have reprised his role once again as Grindelwald, I do feel that Mads Mikkelsen was a welcome addition to this cast as well! It's unfortunate that the scandal surrounding Johnny Depp and his trial against his ex wife caused him to be kicked out of these movies. However, Mads Mikkelsen is a brilliant actor, and I feel he does a great job in the role as Grindelwald, just like Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell do as well. I also really enjoy the addition of Dumbledore's brother, Aberforth, played by actor... Richard Coyle, as well. It's nice to get to know him a bit more than we do even in the final Harry Potter movie... Harry Potter: And the Deathly Hallows Part Two, when he's much older like Dumbledore then as well. Richard Coyle does a great job playing this younger version of his character, and I feel badly for him upon learning all that's happened between the two brothers and their sister, as well as with Aberforth's son, Credence. And I love Jessica Williams as Lally as well!! She's a fun character, and she and Dan Fogler are fun in each of their scenes together! I love seeing Jacob and Lally together throughout a lot of this movie! I miss Tina, and I feel that this movie suffers a little because of the lack of her character throughout most of this movie, though she shows up in the very end. Unfortunately, Katherine Waterston (Tina) was one of the people who spoke out against J.K. Rowling when there was a lot of vile talk about her and her casting decisions years ago, which caused a lot of actors from these movies, including the Harry Potter movies, to say terrible things about the creator of this world and its characters. Again... I won't go into the things said, but they weren't good. And because Katherine Waterston spoke terrible things against the writer, her character was mostly written out of this third movie altogether, which is very unfortunate. I believe she only agreed to return for this final scene within the movie, as well as to appear very briefly a little earlier in the movie as well, just to help give a little bit of a happy ending for Newt, seeing as they are still together, and so that she could appear for her sister's wedding to Jacob. And while I appreciate Credence's character in this movie for the sake of Aberforth and his story, I don't like Credence as a character at all. Despite feeling sorry for his character. I just can't tolerate Ezra Miller as an actor for numerous reasons which I won't get into all the stuff with him, but he's not a good person. But more than this... I just think that Credence is a very boring character overall. And his character has been dwindled down to pretty much nothing within this movie, after they made such a big deal about him within the first two movies. I'm fine with this though. I just don't care enough about his character to mind. And of course... I absolutely love seeing all of Newt's beautiful beasts, including Teddy, his Niffler, and Pickett!! And the beautiful Qilin is absolutely adorable too!! It's tragic and heartbreaking seeing both the Qilin's mother and its twin die throughout this movie. But I enjoy the overall story involving this beautiful beast! As for this movie's overall story... I do feel that certain problems involving all the backlash and trouble surrounding Katherine Waterson, Johnny Depp, and Ezra Miller, and the changes made to their characters because of the troubles surrounding them, do hurt this movie and its overall story, quite a bit. Which is unfortunate. And it's unfortunate that there most likely won't be anymore Fantastic Beasts movies made because of these problems. Because I absolutely want more with Newt and Jacob!! Who are easily my favorite characters throughout this trilogy!! Both Eddie Redmayne and Dan Fogler together are fabulous, and so much fun!! I love their friendship!! I also really love the friendship between Newt and young Dumbledore throughout these las two movies! I love how much Dumbledore admires Newt, and loves him for being so kind and loyal to him. :) Overall... This is a fun movie, as re the other two within this trilogy! Fantastic Beasts: And Where to Find Them is easily my favorite movie within this trilogy because I just love the introduction to these characters and the overall story! However, these other two movies are good and fun too. The additional characters are great, and I enjoy the overall stories! Thank you and your daughter once more so very much for watching these movies for me as well, Reds! I am happy you had fun watching them as well! :) Sincerely, Heidi
