Welcome to Haven- Yay!! Thank you so much for your first reaction for Haven season one, episode one, Reds!!!! I am so happy you enjoyed this pilot episode for Haven, and that you're intrigued to watch more!! Haven was one of three shows that aired on the Sci-Fi channel at the same time, within the same week. Along with both Warehouse 13 and Eureka too! And I loved all three shows, but Haven has always been my favorite of these three! I love this show's characters, its music, and especially the mysteries surrounding this small town in Maine, which also happens to be where Storybrooke in Once Upon a Time is set in too! I love Maine! While this show was filmed in Nova Scotia, it is set up to look like Maine beautifully! Haven is a show that is loosely based on Stephen King's novel... The Colorado Kid. I won't say too much more, because I don't wish to spoil anything from this show or the book. However, Haven's main three characters within this show... Audrey, Nathan, and Duke, along with most other characters in this show too, are all characters that are not actually from The Colorado King novel. They were created for this show. The only two known characters from both this show and Stephen King's novel, are the two newspaper writers from the Haven Herald... Vince and Dave, played by actors... Richard Donat (Vince) and John Dunsworth (Dave). The mysteries surrounding Haven are fantastic and so intriguing! I can't wait for you to watch more, my dear friend! :) I love, love, love this show's overall premise and the mysteries that unfold through the seasons!! And the town of Haven, Miane is quite beautiful too! As for the characters... I absolutely love Audrey Parker, played by actress... Emily Rose, and Duke Crocker, played by actor... Eric Balfour! I love both of these actors and their characters. Audrey seems like a really strong and an important character, while Duke seems like a fun character who is sarcastic, goofy, and funny. However, my absolute favorite character here in Haven is actually Nathan Wuornos, played by actor... Lucas Bryant. I love Nathan's calm demeanor, his sarcasm and banter with both Audrey and Duke, and I love that he has an infliction with being unable to feel anything throughout his entire body. It's very intriguing and I've never seen another show where a character has such an infliction. And while Nathan does seem very "by the book" and maybe stiff, as well as a bit silly for failing to believe that some other mystery in Haven is going on all around him, especially after witnessing Marina controlling the weather with his own eyes... I feel that Nathan believes more in Audrey than what he lets on. I feel that he is more in denial as per the mysteriousness happening around him, because he's afraid of what it all means about him and his own affliction, as he has no sense of feeling throughout his entire body. He is afraid of what this mystery means for Haven and all of its people whom he cares about. And I think you might come to understand what I mean about Nathan and his character as this show goes on, Reds. I really like how Audrey figures out that Marian controls the weather unintentionally whenever she loses control of her temper. And I love the mystery throughout the town where there are people within Marian's family with the same ability, as well as other strange things going on in Haven... including the mysterious crevasses opening within the roads. And lastly... I love the mystery behind the newspaper article about the Colorado Kid murder that shows an image of a woman who looks identical to Audrey. There's so much to come and I can't wait to join you to rewatch one of my overall favorite shows, Reds! Thank you so much again, my dear friend! What a beginning to a fantastic new show for you to enjoy!! :) Sincerely, Heidi
