Sometimes all that you need is to give those uncomfortable emotions a bit of space to just be heard. And that's what this whole piece is about - being there for yourself. For a long time I wasn't very kind to myself, oppressing the vulnerable side of myself to the point of numbness. A long road to reestablish connection with myself started a bit over a year ago and it's still going. Rocky and unstable time that affected my work too, giving me even more unkind thoughts when I wasn't as productive as I was before I went to therapy. But one little step at a time connect with myself. Hugging that inner demon and inviting him to tag along made me realize it wasn't really a demon but just a part of me. A part that took care of me the only way they could before anyone taught them how to do it safely. All I can say to them is "Thank you for keeping me safe for such a long time, it must have been so tiring and scary... Now we are safe and don't need those ways anymore."
