W2H2 rough animation 1 (Patreon)

Hey guys!  I'm really excited to post the first batch of rough animation I've done on W2H2!

I've gotten the animatic locked down and I've started rough animation.  There's still a few minor things to tweak like timing and transitions, and like.... deciding whether or not to keep or cut a few lines of dialogue, as per usual, (I was editing the first film right up until the last possible second, y'know!) but all of the important stuff is locked and/or LOADED.

The earliest one of these animations was from 4/24, so it's been a little over a month since I've started the rough animation phase, but there were some other things going on and sometimes I wouldn't be able to touch it for a few days.  Plus it's really easy to fuss over little things early on before you hit your stride during a project, so I think I'll be moving faster and getting more done once I'm deeper in.

I've got to figure out some kind of schedule to adhere to, in terms of what I can do for Patrons, and I'd like to find a time to stream with you guys while I'm animating!  But for now I think REGULAR, MONTHLY UPDATES of rough animation is a good place to start.  (Maybe I'll switch it to weekly if I start having a big enough haul for you guys!)

In terms of animation, I'm starting to remember that specific, subtle acting is REALLY HARD.  You can do some wacky cartoon bullshit and it looks fine, but if you're trying to do a very common, realistically HUMAN action, like Jonathan rolling his eyes (205), or Sock shaking his head dismissively (207), and it's not quite right, it just looks BIZARRE and off-putting.  I used to think subtle facial acting came really naturally to me, but actually mimicking something specific is a real challenge!  I hope I can get better at it!

ANYWAY, the other gifs are listed below this post as attachments.  Enjoy, guys!

(PS:  I know I've asked this before, but if you have a time/day preference for watching streams, let me know!  Also I know I always SAY I'm gonna make more youtube videos, and I usually DON'T, but I DO write down topic ideas that you guys suggest, and I appreciate getting input on what you guys would like to see from me in the future.  So as always, feel free to hit me up with that!)
