W2H2 Backgrounds & Notes! (Patreon)

Alright, so my buddy Claire Duffy is basically the lead background and prop designer for W2H2 now, and she's been hard at work developing the look and style for the film, and I'm really excited to share it with you guys!

First we've got a little cheat sheet for the background style, and then a few different samples of locations from the film (Jon's bedroom, Jon's house, the bus stop, and one of the night sky for a scene that takes place outside at night).  The house has gone through a few little changes, and the bus stop will change a bit as well.  I mistakenly didn't give her any reference photos for the kind of houses in Jon's neighborhood, but it's pretty minor changes, so you get the gist of it!  Anyway, each one of these locations will have different palettes for the time of day as well, so that'll be fun!

I also did a color pass on Sock and Jon for the lava-lamp lighting in the room, which I'm pretty pumped about!  I'm not gonna decide on final colors until the BGs are totally locked down, but I was excited.

also I've got draw-over notes from a shot that was guest-animated by my friend Wen, so I thought I'd post those too!

Enjoy!
