ICYMI, apparently YouTube has gotten stricter with copyright, so instead of just the timestamp over the blurred video, I've had to black out a bit more. I've tried several variations of this to see how much I can get away with, and thankfully I can leave a bit around the edges so it's not completely blacked out, and I've tried to include un-blurred/un-muted snippets at the beginning and throughout to help you sync. I know it's a pain, but I've spent the past few days trying to work around it, and so far, this is the best I can do.

Poll question, do we make you wait week to week like we did for sci fi releases 🤣

Has patreon changed how they work? I remember people uploading full reactions directly to patreon in the past.

By way of a self-interested suggestion, you could replace the post-Firefly, post-Serenity reaction content and do twice-weekly Expanse. It's extraordinary television from a technical standpoint - in addition to having excellent performances and a dynamite story. Also, very loyal fanbase...

You coming a lot on the ever-changing camera angles in this episode. I think they do that when the characters are in zero-G. When the ships are under thrust or they're on a planet or even series or arrows with less than 1G the camera seems to be pretty normally planted. I suspect they do it to try to give us the feeling of being in zero-G but it might also help to sell that because they obviously had to film in 1G.

The 1st episode wasn´t a pilot episode. SyFy comissioned the whole season from Alcon Entertainment from the get go.

Way late to the party, but just noticed and love that on the vitals monitor that Alex is watching while everyone is on the stealth ship, the spy's reading are actually labeled Canary (faaaar from the only time they sneak in those jokes, but first time I'm seeing that one).

So, people will tell you that The Expanse is a great exercise in grounded, realistic, "hard" science fiction based in real-world physics. They're lying. At the start, it is mostly based in realistic science, but even there, liberties are taken for the sake of the story. But as the mystery of this first novel/season unravels, we're introduced to something that looks at our understanding of the laws of physics, gives it a thorough spanking, then makes it stand in the corner thinking about what it's done. Julie Mao's fate is the first real inkling that something really, really bizarre is happening, and it's only going to get worse.
